Cooling Fan On eax61141603

I have this tv and it keeps giving me issues: no display/no hdmi. The issue is the cpu that actually needs a reballing. I got no time for that so I reflow.

I need to put a fan on that heatsink -- a 5v (50x50x10mm) is the ideal. I see 5v on this MB, would it be safe to take 5v off this board to feed a fan?

Take the 5v from the psu not one of the Mbs regs it could cause instability. Also good job I like mods like this keep the shit going, also I strongly suggest you replace the thermal compound with thermal silicon or even thermal paste.

Yea I use a blue thermal pad. Should I use the paste instead?

Use paste instead better conductivity. Use thermal pad under the board connecting Cpu to chassis to cool

Im lost. Use paste where? The thernal pad goes onto the cpu then the heat sink goes on top so where I put the paste?

The pad is better and less messy than the paste, no problem with it.

You could connect the fan to the 5V on the main board power connector, just trace pins to find one which is active when the TV is on.
