Hi guys,
I am a bit of a noob on the electrical side so please forgive my lack of terminology. 4 days ago we were watching tv and all of a sudden the LG shut off, with a green, purple and white grainy pattern for half a second.
Afterwards it tried to turn on again, however without the screen turning on at all (stayed completely black and unlit) and turning off again. This pattern keeps on repeating itself without end.
I have read the topics here for different tv's from the PK series and now i am trying to fix it myself. But first i wanted to consult with the experts of this forum before i screw up the TV even further.
Until now i have done following and made observations
1. Unplugged the TV for 1 day to try again, same result.
2. Checked the HDMI cable used, which is now failing to send signal from time to time.
3. Have unscrewed the back and the powerboard with the following observations.
5. Visually inspected the capacitors and they seem to be looking fine.
What i am looking for is advice on what my next steps should be, at the moment i don't even have a soldering kit but am willing to get one and confident of trying to replace some stuff. Also should i get a multimeter and measure it through? if so, any guides on how to do that?
Thanks in advance for your help!

There are a few dark spots and dry joints (atleast i think, they have a dark circle around the soldering) EY42.
The resistor is slightly blackend as marked on picture 2 at R929.
4. I have short circuited r51 & r52 on the control board with the XD chip on it, with no test screen showing.5. Visually inspected the capacitors and they seem to be looking fine.
