Samsung UE46C6005 only clicking

Hi all!
Having problem with my Samsung, model code UE46C6005RWXXE.
As soon as I apply main power it starts clicking and red led in front flashing. I have opened up the backside and measured between t-con and main board, all voltage readings seem correct (I guess PS & BS should be 16.9v). When clicking the voltages disapperes and comes back at next click.
That´s about as far I know what to check - I´m quite handy with soldering iron, computers & electronics but when coming to modern TVs my knowledge is quite basic... so any help what it could be/what to do would be much appreciated

What happens when you remove the cable between mainboard and powersupply? Remove that cable and turn on the tv , does the backlight come on?

If I remove the cable nothing happens when I apply main power and the connector to mainboard is powerless.

Ok , that looks like you have a backlight issue. Im not really familiar with these led tv's. Im more into plasma tv's.

Need to wait for Budm/Reecey etc to join. Can you provide some clear pictures of the back of the tv? This well help for quicker repair.

Have you an image of the boards please ? Also if its clicking with the MB out sounds like a psu issue to me.

So if you do not see the backlights come on and stay on when the cable between the power supply and the main board is removed, then we need to good clear pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards and then good clear pictures of the power supply board so we see good clear labels and traces on the board.

I put the pictures as attachment - don´t know how to do else... not my best pictures but in evening it´s problematic with the light but I hope you can see.
Obviously I wasn´t clear with my decription - if I remove the cable between MB and T-board (PSU) it happens nothing when applying main power, no clicking, no power (on connector to MB),no backlight, no nothing at all...

I saw your mainboard and i ran upstairs to my scab boards. I got 4 of them , all DEAD.

Looks like a common issue with these boards. Going to keep an eye on this thread and see if i can fix the boards.

It will probably be the Bga soldering on the main cpu thats failed. My advise reflow the mainboard see if helps. Samsung were able to make a nice flat Tv but they failed at properly cooling the hot running parts which leads to failure.

Thanks for the advice but that kind of equipment I haven´t... or is there a way to do it at home?

BN44-00357B POWER SUPPLY/LED driver board.
These boards are known for bad solder joints on the rivet through hole solder joints, you can them on TM801S transformer. I would resolder all those transformer legs and any devices mounted on the heatsink.
Run the power supply board by itself and then check the DCV on the LED connector CNL801 Pin 1~8 to see what kind of DCV you have to the LEDs.

First test what Budm says. I think normally the backlight should come on with mainboard removed.

Tried to resolder, no change - still clicking.
The part I don´t really get is how to measure CN801 when PSU is by it self - is backlight on as soon as there is main power present? Don´t I have to activate in some way, I mean is the backlight always on even if the TV is in standby? Anyway, I did measure CN801 with only main power cord connected and there is no DVC present.

OK, I just look at the schematic in details, the BN44-00357A or B DOES NOT have pull up resistor for testing the power supply board by itself.
So removing the cable between the main board and the power supply board will not do anything, you have to use force on resistors to test the power supply board.

Where and what resistance should I use?
By the way, do you know what SW4110 on MB is for? Just out of curiosity...

There are charts next to the transformer TB801S for the connector CNM801 (18 pins)
You will connect 1K resistor between Pin 16 SB (STANDBY 5.2VDC) and pin 18 PS (PS-ON/POWER-ON), then another 1K resistor between SB pin and pin 4 BL (BL-ON). You will run the test without the main board connected.
