    Re: LG Plasma 42PG6010

I got a fluke 101 in the post today.

I've retested the IGBT's from the Ysus board with the fluke and I am still not seeing anything from drain to source after applying +V probe on the gate.

    WTH am I doing wrong?

Zsus board replacement made no change to the rainbow static.

Still seeing 1.9v on Zbias trace

            Re: LG Plasma 42PG6010

yes Ysus and Zsus replaced, issue remains.

TV is running test patterns and still showing rainbow snow on black areas of screen.

            No other boards replaced

              Re: LG Plasma 42PG6010

could the mainboard firmware cause this? but why the low voltage too? what board provides that low zbias voltage?

I think I have schematics for this TV, I will take a look at the Zbias traces and see if I can find their source.

Searched through the schema, there is not even a single reference to Zbias.

There is PBias and RBias no ZBias

so how do we know what the correct zbias voltage is? it must say somewhere i guess have you got a picture of your panel sticker with the voltages printed on it

                      Re: LG Plasma 42PG6010

Surely if the word Zbias is printed on the board it should be in the schematic PDF as a matter of course, searching the PDF with CTRL+F gave me no results for ZBias or variations thereoff. A search for Bias gave me the two I specified in my last post.

I remember deciphering the sticker a while ago, someone on this forum done a breakdown of the numbers and what they meant. The Zbias I believe was the final "100" value on the sticker.

                      Edit -

I rotated that damn image using windows image viewer before uploading but it didn't stick. Sorry for the crick in your neck guys!

yes should be 100v so unless your measuring the wrong points im not sure where the voltage comes from maybe AlastairE may have a idea what you can check now if reece has ran out of ideas as i know AlastairE has worked on a few lg plasmas in the past

zbias is sometimes measured across a resistor and has printing on the board etc.

not a exact match but this lg training manual may help with the zbias issue page 74 onwards it does look like the z sus board makes the voltage with your low reading

That is absolute gold Vince, thank you. Where did you get this? The parent URL doesn't load anything, did you upload this?

Would love to get similar manuals for other models TV's.

Definitely looks like the Zbias is meant to be measured across a resistor. I need to take another look at the boards.

Thanks again matey, I will report back what I find!

The link opens the pdf for me not sure why its dosent load anything ?

Edit on page 81 you will see a chart where if you test zbias on the connector it reads 1.9 volts like what your seeing now

Thanks, I wasn't clear, the PDF loads but I was trying to see the website that was hosting it e.g. home.exetel.com.au, got nothing from that URL.

Sometimes I read old posts I made and think WHY THE F did I phrase a statement like that.

its a pity we cant find a training manual for your exact set as yours is a lot diffrent in regards to the s sus etc ive just looked online at your exact s sus and i cant see any test points on it.

There are schematics around for DIY jigs, they don't look tricky to build, any chance the Mal-Discharge firmware could be found online?

                                        Can preflashed boards be found?

I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...

                                            Hello,
I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
                                            a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
                                            c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.
How to confirm Y -Buffer board...

                                            Panasonic plasma TX-P42ST50 - 6 blinks

                                            Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults...

                                            Hi,
I have this almost brand new Plasma was well stored. I would like to repair it for a friend of mine.

I have noticed that it works for few seconds then switches Off the Power_ On signal. Have disconnected boards and left maion board and power supply and still the same. The power supply with PS_ON and VA signals On stays on so it is not a problem in the power supply.
Any one met this problem in the past?...

SA-HD52 1 Default Crosstalk/static after replacing selector switch IC?
                                            by Leebo249
                                            Hey,

A month back I replaced the selector switch IC on my Panasonic SA-HD52 as the radio was still playing when I selected the CD, it did this with the tape and record too.

Now when I replaced the IC it worked perfectly, no cross talking and I left it at that for a month and have come to it today to play a CD (you can hear it spinning) and the issue has come back although with another issue.

Both issues are random, the original problem where the radio will play over other playbacks has come back and another time you turn it on it will refuse to play anything,...
