    Toshiba 40L1333B -Led Strips

    Hello,
I have a Toshiba 40L1333B with 4 failed Leds. It looks as though the set has been worked on before since the strip connectors have had wire jumpers fitted no doubt because of the poor connections.

Before I buy a 5 led strip from Ebay (SVS400A79_5Led_C-Type_Rev.1_120712) has anyone in the UK a trashed set willing to sell the led strips at a reasonable price.

If you can then please PM me.
    Many thanks

Got to love that soldering, why dont you just replace the bad Leds with ones off another strip using hot air ?

      Hello ReeceyBurger123
I think it may have been a lot easier removing the faulty leds knowing that they are already duff but I'm afraid that I may have some failures in removing working leds off a strip to use as replacements for the faulty ones.

I can buy a 5 led strip off Ebay and use that to replace the 5 led strip I already have that has 2 faulty leds on and then use the remaining 3 good leds from that faulty strip to repair the other strips. That would allow me one mistake.

Cut and stack no need to remove the leds? fit the new 5 LED strip then cut up the old strip for the 3 good LEDs still on it, then you would have one spare and no mistakes.

          Hello Flocko,
Although the stacking method is certainly a lot less work, I'd like to replace the existing leds since I intend to sell on the set. If I fail then the stacking method suggested will be my only option.
          Thanks

There was the LED strip you wanted on ebay for £13 yesterday. Don't know if its still there.

So you think running three heat cycles through used LEDs is the best way? should last all of a month or two.

Not in my case lol well over a year with that method but stacking is easier.

That's a good price and well under half the price of what I have been able to find.

Reecey how long would they last if the back light was set to max? not long is my bet, if from new they just about last two years. And when they fail you cannot tell the customer you sold it to its you fault for running the back light to high.Anyway I think we have been here before its just my take on the matter. I am sure he will do it whatever way he wants

My first attempt will be to replace the leds. I have a hot air gun station. Thanks for the pointer to temperature. Only if I fail miserably will I do the stacking method which I do appreciate does have its merits if all else fails.

But the question is how long with the other Leds last on max ? I always turn it down no matter what repair done safest option.

I have done a few led repairs now i watched norcal video (from about 13 mins in) and used this method
                                  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf5T2wwtydY
and his method has worked fine im still using the tv set now been about 9 months and is still ok, the hard bit is fitting the diffuser lens back on, ive got too admit i do use the stacking method a lot more now as just as easy too do.

Well I must admit it was a lot easier than I thought.
Removed the 3 working leds from the 5Led strip and used them to repair the two other faulty strips which have been tested and are up and running.

Now I'll order a 5 led strip to and I should be up and running again.
Many thanks to all for your input.
