I was wondering the differences between the various Panasonic plasma SU/SD board combinations and if any are interchangeable. For example I have a TCP50S30 that has the 5336/5337 SU SD pair, but I have seen the TCP50U50 using the 5674/5675 and wonder if they could be used as a replacement for the 5336/5337. Thoughts? Anyone done this already and willing to share?

Re: Differences in Panasonic plasma SU/SD scan boards
I think if the manufacturer put different labels on the same named boards, it is because there are differenced between them.....without a schematic but having both boards at hand......look at the connectors and see if they match-up, if the parts lay-out is similar and if the working voltages are same.

Re: Differences in Panasonic plasma SU/SD scan boards
Also need to know if the panels are the same!
I would not do it myself risking shorting the SC board , the buffer board and maybe other boards.
Even though the voltages are similar its risky....I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

Re: Differences in Panasonic plasma SU/SD scan boards
The boards look very similar as far as the chips, connector layout and mounting holes are concerned. The 50U50 and 50S30 are both 1080p plasmas arrays. I ordered the SU/SD pair from the 50U50 since they were a cheap working set. Will go over them when they arrive next week.

Re: Differences in Panasonic plasma SU/SD scan boards
Found out the following doing some research:
50U50 uses plasma array MD50F15C3A
50S30 uses plasma array MD50F14C3A
So it seems the 50U50 is 15th gen and the 50S30 is 14th gen.
Both are 1920x1080 FHD plasma arrays.
Looks promising so far...
