Samsung LN46B530P7N Volume going up and back down on its own

Samsung LN46B530P7N - Volume is going wide open then it will go all the way back down cycling. Not the remote, removed the batteries. Posting photos. Side controls patch into the same control board as the IR sensor is on then it runs over to the main board. Picture looks good but remote does not work correctly either as far as changing channels.

Ever heard of this before?

So removing the cable from the button board does not have an effect on the Tv ?

I'll second this. I've seen 32"-52" models of Samsungs from this era with bad or stuck button boards causing this exact issue. Seen them with the channel button stuck as well.

Seriously while I was waiting for a reply (was fast too so thanks) I took the remote sensor board off and cleaned mega dust off the IR led. So after seeing this I disconnected the side control board and turned it on. It works perfectly now. I noticed right away that the remote and the power indicator led responded correctly and before it was rapidly flickering. I will let it play for a while to be sure but I am satisfied... now for the actual fix... repair the board or replace it?? (very dirty like dirt road dust.. real dirt! LOL)
Going to try cleaning first.

OK update... cleaning did not work looks like a simple board but it has some very tiny SMD caps/resistors that i have no desire trying to replace. I will be looking for the replacement board.

Good job! Clean it with alcohol ( Isopropanol ). Maybe nail remover will work also but i prefer Isopropanol.

No need for replacing unless something is shorted or burned.

Knew it would be that I have also had this countless amounts of times, remove all the tape off the board and apply fresh I have had success doing this.

Bad side buttons was going to be my guess. I've seen stuck buttons that cycle through whatever function that it controlled. Also, buttons that don't make until you put serious pressure on them, or jiggle them while pushing like a gorilla. They're not dirty, just poor quality buttons.

I have a 32" Westinghouse that I am currently working on that the side buttons work only 20% of the time (set works fine with remote).

SOLVED: Samsung LN46B530P7N Volume going up and back down on its own

It was the little button board. Very cheap repair.
Works good as new again.
