Re: Samsung LED TV Model UN32EH4003 Bad Cap?

    ReeceyBurger123,

I am a beginner but want to learn from others!

"...I would say low esr type like Panasonic Fr or Fc etc will work fine"

Question: Do you recommend "low esr" caps for all Main Board TV replacement caps?

Did some checking before asking and found "Equivalent series resistance wiki" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equiva...ies_resistance

"...Aluminium and tantalum electrolytic capacitors with non solid electrolyte have much higher ESR values, up to several ohms, and ESR tends to increase with frequency due to effects of the electrolyte. A very serious problem, particularly with aluminium electrolytics, is that ESR increases over time with use; ESR can increase enough to cause circuit malfunction and even component damage,[1] although measured capacitance may remain within tolerance. While this happens with normal aging, high temperatures and large ripple current exacerbate the problem. In a circuit with significant ripple current, an increase in ESR will increase heat dissipation, thus accelerating aging."

Was especially interested in "ESR can increase enough to cause circuit malfunction and even component damage,[1] although measured capacitance may remain within tolerance."

Checked Panasonic Fc and Fr data sheets Both maxs are 100V so am guessing low esr caps do not matter for Power Supplies? Is this correct?

    Thanks again for your help!!!

    Ken

'Checked Panasonic Fc and Fr data sheets Both maxs are 100V so am guessing low esr caps do not matter for Power Supplies? Is this correct? ' It matters alot especially in the switching power supply. If you read though lots of BC forums, you will see lots of failed caps in the power supply.

Troubleshooting a Samsung TV: Model UN65JU670DFXZA Version T01
        by Mark D
I currently (out of necessity) have found myself troubleshooting a Samsung TV: Model UN65JU670DFXZA Version T01. My past has been in repairing antique radios...not new circuits. Here I am very new. The TV would not turn on and did not have a standby light. When I opened the back, I noticed that the power supply board had a blown fuse. While I attempted to search for a short, I found two. Now comes my ignorance...The transistors that I found to be shorted are labeled as: 1E52AH FDPF12N50NZ. The only ones I can find are on Ebay but the top numbers are either 1E16AJ or 1B23BB. Ive never ordered transistors...
