    LN46A630M1F Horizontal Lines with Text

    Hi all,
I found this Samsung A630 in the trash and the picture has the gamma chip problem on the T-con but also some horizontal lines that seem to parallel text.

I believe this may be a defective panel in addition to the gamma chip on the t-con board.

    Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Please anyone? The lines only follow text making me think that maybe the problem is not the panel.

      I think a t-con will solve this,doubt it's the panel.

        According to shop jimmy:

"IMPORTANT: Horizontal lines on the screen are virtually NEVER caused by a bad T-con board. Horizontal lines indicate a defective LCD panel (screen)."

But I guess they mean "permenant" lines, not ones dependent on input.

I'm also confused because there seem to be two t-con boards for this set, a green one and a blue one?

Well, you really don't have lines in the way they mean.It looks more like a imperfect driven screen. The gamble will be : Is it T-con or is it Main board. But seeing the solarisation (is that a word?) of the picture I'm leaning strongly towards a defective t-con.
Just don't send hate mail if it does turn out to be main board. Some more input from the more seasoned ones here perhaps?

Is it possible that there are two t-con boards on this set? Haha, I never get mad like that.

green t-con seems to be for the A530 models? Blue for A630,not sure if they carry different panels?

                Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

Sony XBR-65X750D Horizontal lines bottom of screen
                by ggil44
Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
                by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...
