    LG-50HP660V - Board testing

    Hello,
I've acquired this set which has a shattered screen that I intend to strip down for spares/repairs.

I've disconnected the power supply from the Xsus (which links across to the Ysus) and all the power supply voltages come up when switched out of standby.

The set also has sound and respond to the remote control.

Is there any way to power up the Xsus, Ysus and control board for testing without blowing any of the boards.

    Thanks

ould have thought the chassis would run if all is well--providing the tabs to buffers and X are disconnected from the boards...
--Never tried it, but cant see why it shouldnt run...

BTW--Your chip-shop is just down the road from me....!

Thanks Alastair, That's what I was hoping I could do. Will let you know how it pans out.

Just googled it. Haven't been over that side of Swansea for many years. Is it any good?

Rather expensive, never open when you want it--but guess its OK. Other chippies round here-
Covelli's in Mumbles used to be OK, but haven't been there since new people took over.
Johnnies has gone downhill--Cook to order, take forever and not nice...
I dont rate Rossi's by the stadium at all, regardless of all the publicity...

Best chips Ive had--at least round here would be from Charlos in Pontardawe...

          Re: LG-50HP660V - Board testing

Checked both Xsus and Ysus panels for shorted diodes, mosfets and all appeared to be fine.

Powered up with the plasma panel ribbons disconnected and reconnected all supply cables.

Measured +Vy and Vzb. The +Vy voltage was rising fairly fast towards +300V and then dropping out. I believe that over voltage protection was kicking in.

So it certainly doesn't look like any major faults on the boards.

Thanks to Alastair for his advice.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
            • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
            • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

Control Board Replacement for 2K display
            by redoxy
I am looking at the option of replacing my control/driver board to one with HDMI and/or Display port input on a 2K LED (I think IPS) screen.

            The display is Samsung LTM270DL07.

I have tried using the model number to search for a compatible control/driver board but so far my efforts have been futile.

I am looking for inputs on what board could potentially be used for my display.

Attached are pictures of the display label information and connectors (CON30 CON40 only) and pictures of the current control board.
            Also attached is a technical...
