Sharp Aquos LC46D64U won't give me picture or sound

Hello all, I am hoping that someone can help me troubleshoot my TV. I have a Sharp Aquos LC46D64U. When I plug in the cord, I hear a click (sounds like a relay) and then I get the power and opc light flashing once, and then just the power light flashing once. Then this repeats over and over again. Once it is plugged in and the lights are flashing, I have tried to take some voltage readings off of the power supply. The only reading the I will get is the 5v from the main board. Everything else seems to be at 0v. Now, when I force the tv on using the volume + and channel -, I do get the correct voltage readings off of everything on the power supply. At first, I thought it was a power supply issue so I replaced it. Both power supplies do the exact same thing. I am assuming that that means the power supply is fine especially since when I force it on, I am getting the correct voltage readings. I could be very wrong though since I am not an expert. I have not replaced the smps. I have read that these can go bad but it is very unlikely. Could it be the inverter board? is there a test I can do to check that? Any kind of help would be great...

Do you have any clear sharp pictures of the circuit boards / back of the set you can post.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

I believe that Sharp TVs, once a failure mode has been triggered (flashing lights), have to be RESET to work again once repaired. This happened to me with my Sharp (backlight problem). I fixed the BL, but the TV still "flashed" me. I had to look up the reset procedure for Sharp and do a proper RESET before things would work again.

I don't remember the exact process, but it involved holding down side buttons while pressing the side power button. Work some Googlefoo to find the exact method.

Re: Sharp Aquos LC46D64U won't give me picture or sound

Ok, here is an update: I tried doing the reset and it did not work. Now, in my previous message I mentioned that I was getting all the right voltages when I used the channel - and volume + button together. This is not the case. I went through the voltage test again.

                PS ON- 3.1v
                AC DET- 2.9
                BU5 - 5.0v
                PNL POW- 0
                15v - 0
                15v - 0

I am also not getting any voltage from the inverter wires that are coming off the power supply.

Here are the voltages if I just plug it in.

                PS ON- 0
                AC DET- 0
                BU5 - 5.0v
                PNL POW- 0
                15v - 0
                15v - 0

Does this sound like the power supply or a different issue? What other tests can I do to diagnose this further?

Re: Sharp Aquos LC46D64U won't give me picture or sound

Are these the readings out of standby

                  PS ON- 3.1v
                  AC DET- 2.9
                  BU5 - 5.0v
                  PNL POW- 0
                  15v - 0
                  15v - 0

                  And these when in standby?

                  PS ON- 0
                  AC DET- 0
                  BU5 - 5.0v
                  PNL POW- 0
                  15v - 0
                  15v - 0

The first set of readings are when I do the channel- and volume + and get the power and opc to stop flashing and the power just stays at a solid green.

The second sent of readings happens when I just plug the tv in, hear a click and then the code starts flashing.

The first set of reading look like the set is on but missing the 15V and PNL POW.
Disconnect the power supply from the main board and connect PS On to BU5 using a 1K resistor and check all your other supplies come up.

                        by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Sharp Aquos LC-70C6400U Half Screen Dark
                        by scubacamper
I found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display...

Sharp Aquos 40aj6ke backlight ok, no sound or video
                        by Questcom
                        Hi All,

I have recently purchased a faulty Sharp Aquos 40aj6ke which turns on and has backlight but has no sound or video, the person I brought it from told me he had changed the main board and the same fault was there.

I have tested voltages on main board and they seems ok, the backlight is at 75v, I believe this tv has 3 x 8 strips of leds which 75v would work out to around 3v per led

I think the issue is on the board that attaches to the lcd, doing a bit of digging watching videos etc, there is a lot of mention of vgl and vgh being around -8 and...

Sharp Aquos Lc-80LE757U flashing Sharp on screen when plugged in
                        by sefoster
I have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...

Sharp Aquos LC-40UG7252E LCD TV burn in?
                        by jonah1024
                        Hello!

I'm a few days old into this TV screens repair universe so please bear with me.

Recently, and all of a sudden my 40” 4K Sharp Aquos LCD TV turned on with colors all smudged in some places on the screen that remain like that even without any kind of video source. I do have image but the colors are smudged/tinted/ washed out in patches as per defects. This to me looks similar to burn in but I’m shore this is not an OLED.

                        - I did the classic unplug and hold power button to discharge the caps but it didn't help.
                        - I did a factory reset as well...
