Err--Well, Not Really!

Those are just flow-charts and a poor illustration diagram--of the Wrong PSU (for my 32" NOT your 42" set PSU) and Not a Proper Schematic of Your supply-board.

Check that Va supply and where it comes from Is that running, is it commoned with the Vs Generator or is it a separate stage.

--Only you can see--as its in front of you!

As there's NO schematic of the PSU about--You just gotta follow tracks on the board and check stuff/make deductions as to whats what....

It's a pity but no-one appears to want plasma sets these days. They are almost impossible to sell on these days.

I just want it fixed. Surely somebody knows how. Quite happy to courier it there and back. I just want this TV for a bedroom now. It's a great TV.

Not so!

Only the old duffer sets without DTV and HDMI wont sell! My best sellers are Plasma sets--as alongside Any LCD, the Plasma picture knocks spots off cruddy LCD pictures....

Cant get enough of 'em!

I'm only 50 miles up the road from you and as I said in my earlier post I find it almost impossible to sell Plasma sets on.

Sorry--but I'm not in a position currently to offer a repair-service for those old Hitachi sets. Best I can offer is to look out for a scrapper set, they come along fairly frequently....

Trashed a 42PD5000 two or three weeks ago--went straight into skip, didn't bother even powering it up--No media-box-- and before that a month or so, there was another....

As I said--They are so bad, I just don't bother with 'em--Especially that version that uses the bloody mega-bux 'Media-Box' PD3000/PD5000, you cant do anything with the set without--at least yours is all internal to set!

I'll bet if you had your set working and by side of say, Samsung 42Q97HD (Approx same age, and screen res.), You wouldn't believe how bad the Hitachi actually is!
-(VERY easy to get accustomed to a poor picture over time)

Very true Alastiar
I was visiting a family over the Christmas and while about 7 of us sat down to watch TV I asked them how long they had been having a problem with it. The first quarter of the screen (top to bottom) was dark and no-one had ever noticed it.

The top 4 CCFL tubes were not coming on and the repair was a quick resoldering of the inverter transformer contacts.
