Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
Thanks for the info tw2005. I will post my results. I am a slow typer and by the time I respond there is like two replies already. Sorry I missed your response.
Were you talking about buffer board repairs or SC board repairs, cause I have been following your post on the nightmarish SC board repair. Those are really time consuming. The ones out of the gt series are a piece of cake comparitively speaking. Once again, this forum is awesome and there is so much info about repairs it is just amazing.

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
No no , you don't understand! ( or my english is bad haha ).
You now have the GT with a missing SC board. Because the board is missing the tv gives you the 8 blinking leds.
You are bidding on a VT which is a "better" tv then the GT but the VT is showing 7 blinks , which means most of the times that the SC board is bad. ( Loose screws ).
So in both cases you either need a new SC board for the GT or VT ..... OR you need a repair set for the VT.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
Yep, I agree with moreno83. you are going to have the same issue as the GT but hopefully all the boards will be in it. I dont know if the buffers are interchangeable but wouldn't it be great if the VT needed an SU board and the one you have works. Take it slow, cause mistakes are costly. I ordered my repair kit from SJ and I think it was $25.00. Depends how your soldering skills are. Watch that video from norcal715 and that will give you an idea if you want to tackle it. This SC board is one of the easiest ones to repair. I too would make the drive cause you dont know how they will transport it and when its sold, people aren't always careful about transporting. That VT was about $900.00 more than the GT if I remember right. You will have to do the same checks on the boards when you get it.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
Last Saturday i bought the same model but 50inch and also has 7 blinks. Used the SC50 jumper and still 7 blinks. Removed the SC board and i got 8 blinks. Buffer boards tested fine so i knew the SC board was bad. Bought a repair set for $20 but replaced the wrong items ( my own dumb fault haha ).
90% chances that the SC board in that VT30 is bad. Its your choice! I would buy and repair it and then sell it. Or sell the GT30.
Do you guys recommend anyone here?
Nick's tvs fixed the Zsus board on my lg but I don't know if that's all he does.Last edited by Malachi; 02-26-2016, 04:22 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
Did you order a kit from SJ or just the fet's by themselves. I am curious cause SJ usually includes ic's and a bunch of stuff I usually don't replace. I am waiting for a kit right now for my 55gt31. I had a question related to this post. I have a SU board that has one shorted chip. I removed the chip and the short went away. If I put that board in with out the chip, will the tv fire up. I know I would be missing the drive for the panel but don't want to harm anything. I was going to order a chip and try my luck on soldering it in, so I thought if the rest of the buffer works I would proceed, otherwise I would be looking for one of those hard to find 5340 buffers.
I just got the parts in and you should read my thread as 1 board has not turned out well with 3 failures of the same parts in a row, I've called it quits on it but the other board which had the more common fail just had 6 transistors replaced and currently testing it.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
The "30" series are " ST30 / GT30 / VT30 ". VT is the best from those series.
Thats good news , 150 is of course a lot of money but not much for that tv. I would drive for 2 hours to get that tv because in 2 months a lot of people will see that tv and offer more.
You still end up with the same issue though ....you either need a new SC board or repair the damaged SC board.
If you have the money , buy a SC board for the GT30 and a repair set for the VT30.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
Great news. I was scouring Craigslist cities near me. Someone 2 hours south of me has a Tc-p55vt30 for $200. I offered $150 and they accepted. They will be in my city on April 24 for a concert and they said they would deliver it. I may not be able to wait though. So it's either a 4 hour round trip or wait 2 months. Their TV has 7 blinking code.
I checked shopjimmy and the sc boards are the same.
Which is better, a gt or vt?Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
Yea, for a $20.00 investment I would have done the same thing. I was just saying I have spent up to $100.00 for that tv and hoping I could repair it as cheap as possible. But when you have to keep buying boards, then it just cost a little more to fix and sometimes you have to wait awhile till someone has one.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
Ofcourse , i forgot! Sorry , I did read that but in my mind i was still with that $50
Anyways , as Gdawg says; These tv's are amazing , you will be glad that you traded that "Sylvania" tv. What the heck is a "Sylvania" haha
I repaired a lot of Panasonic tv's and only 1 had a bad panel.
I also payed over $100 for a non working Panasonic tv. You now have the GT30 , i bought a defective VT30 for 150! ( Thats like $165 ).
You won't be disappointed.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
The person I bought from never tried to fix it. They bought it as is. The power light blinked 8 times. So when I went to get it I never thought a board was missing.
I figure, 8 blinks, I knew what that was from the service manual and with help from ou guys, I'd fix it.
I never thought to look inside before leaving and even then I might still have made the trade, knowing how nice panasonics are, from experience.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
I didnt buy it for $50. You didn't read the rest of the posts. Lol.
$50 was the initial deal. The single mom and her father were really looking for a TV for their 6 year old daughters room.
I had a 37" sylvania that I got for free. It had a bad t-con board. I bought a tcon for $20 and fixed it.
I traded the 37" for the Panasonic.
As to what the boards are worth, I can't sell them as working because I can't say the TV is working.
So it's either fix it or basically throw it away.
I doubt anyone would buy parts not knowing if they were good.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
I have repaired a bunch of these tv's and I'm not sure if everyone else agrees, but these panels dont go bad very often. There is always that possibility but I dont know. Usually if the panel is bad you will see damage inside. Panasonic tells you to inspect panel for any irregularity in the panel. Best way to check is haul it out in the sun and look closely at the pixels. From what I understand, you will see like a burn mark in it. I am kinda thinking the repair guy told him the panel was bad and the grabbed the SC board, but who knows. When ever I buy a tv on Craigslist I learned to ask if anyone has worked on it. I generally pass if someone has only from learning my lesson. People can butcher a tv trying to repair it. I had a guy tell me he attempted a repair and I bought it and opened it up. It looks like he used a propane torch and destroyed an SC board. I could not even repair the traces it was that bad. So I had to replace the board. Its always discouraging but at least you dont have a bunch of money in it. I have paid over $100.00 for a non working Panasonic only because they are great tv's when working.Leave a comment:

Well , you bought the tv for $50. Just the parts alone are $50 each! But you don't want to sell the boards , you want this beast to display a picture haha.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
I had not thought about reselling the board. I just called the guy again out in California. He said they just got 23 more boards in. He will check them this weekend and I should call him back Monday.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
Then i don't get it why that guy says the panel is bad. If you don't have shorted bufferboards then chances are high that the panel is fine. Im not that experienced with repairing plasma tv's so i can't give you a 100% answer. Started repairing like 1.5 years ago.
However. I once tried to repair a plasma tv which had shorted buffer boards. Bought new bufferboards , tested them for shorts BEFORE installing them and they were fine. Installed them , connected all cables and again the new bufferboards were shorted ----> bad panel!
Try and find a working SC board and install it. Use the SC50 jumper to test the board without using the bufferboards. Worst case scenario you end up with another bad SC board which you can sell for at least $50 as its a wanted board......Leave a comment:

by riparoHi everyone, I have a Panasonic OLED TV model 55EZ950E, as soon as I turn it on I don't have any image the LED goes from green to red LED blinking every 4 sec, I found the service manual suggests checking OLED PANEL, PB BOARD, T-CON connectors but it seems like everything ok, I didn't find any burns under the pb board
I attach a link to download the service manual, thank you for anyone who can help me

by CoinCoin88Hello there,
Google led me again to badcaps when trying to troubleshoot a dying Plasma that is sitting at my uncle's roughly 550 km from where I am. It's an old G20 from 2010 or so, that isn't being actively used so you can consider the panel "not too sollicitated".
Symptoms: TV starts, works for 5-10 minutes, then screen turns black and safety kicks in and spits a 13-blink code with the red LED. Once this code kicks in, the TV will not display any image anymore. Unplug it for a few minutes, plug it again, it'll work then fail a few minutes later.

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

by ItepKHey everyone!
I've gotten this TV for free, neither have it seen a TV repair man, neither have it been opened before.
This post describes my entire troubleshooting process of this TV.
When I turn it on using the ON/OFF switch at the side of the TV, the light rapidly flashes green, then it stays on, but it does not react to any of the remote buttons, side buttons, and doesn't play audio.
I've taken the unit apart, and I've started to check some voltages:

by TofHello everyone, here is the issue I am facing with my Panasonic Oled TX-65FZ800e.
When the TV has not be used for some hours, I power up the TV with a video input and the image is displayed perfectly for 30seconds and then the TV switch off with the red light blinking every 4 seconds for ever.
The service manual explanation: EVDD_SOS (EVDD 24V error) with check point (oled panel, P board, A board, T-CON)
I opened it and found a burned connector on PB-board on the 24V pins.
The 24V wires have change a bit of color due to the overheat and the corresponding... - Loading...
