Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
No. The TV came from a free online selling and buying sight called Craigslist.
From the directions I followed tw2005 seemed to think the buffer boards were ok.

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
So this tv originally came from that repair guy?
In my opinion , if you have a bad panel then you also have shorted buffer boards. Buffer boards were ok right?Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
Well I guess I won't be getting the board.
The company that sold it to me on eBay asked my to call him.
He said he has repaired a lot of those tv's and he believes the problem is a bad plasma panel.
That whoever had it took the sc board out because it's the most sought after one and probably sold it then sold the tv to the 70 year old I got it from, who was told it was working.
The eBay seller refunded me the money.
I'm bummed out now. LolLeave a comment:

Trust me I'm very scared of that. I've got to melted spots on my analog meter leads.
Couldn't see for 5 minutes from the sparks.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
Forgot to tell you. Tw2005 hopefully will read this and I hope I explained everything so you dont get in trouble. Always remember when the tv is powered on, there are lethal voltages so just be careful not to stick your fingers anywhere on the board. Those large caps hold a lot of voltage even with the tv off. So be careful handling boards after they have been powered up. I got my finger around the corner when I was removing it and my arms were numb for about 15 minutes. Dont want to scare you, but just be carefull.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
Yep, that is a common failure along with the upper buffer. Some of the models had the same issue with the SS board, but it didn't involve the buffers. If I send you my teeth size, can you send me some?? lol. My wife asked me, "so how many teeth do you still have" instead of asking how many are you missing. Pretty harsh!!Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
I will have to get alligator clips.
Thanks for those instructions.
I'm hoping that the previous owner figured out the Sc board was bad and took it out, then for whatever reason decided it cost to much to get a replacement or to have it rebuilt and sold the tv as working and disappeared.
Seems like these sc boards fail often?Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
You may also look at the back of the panel where the SC board mounts. You will see small bumps with holes in them to screw it down. Make sure the bumps have no black marks around them as that is usually what does in the SC board. I use a little sand paper to take off the black marks. I can almost guaranty they will be there. Make sure to tighten the screws on the SS board or replace them with the new screws.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
When you get the board, make sure you screw it down using the ones with lock washers. You might have to pull one off the other board and go down to the local hardware store or sometimes you can buy them thru ShopJimmy. Just put in Panasonic screws and you should see results. Once its screwed down, make sure the ribbon cable is plugged in to the sc20 connector and your power lead is plugged in. You will need to locate a connector on the SC board marked sc50. Its located lower left close to the lower buffer board. It has two pins in it which you have to jump with an alligator clip or anything that will short the two pins together. Make sure the buffers are totally disconnected. When you power it up, hopefully the tv will stay on with no codes. Of course you wont have a display but the tv should stay on. Only let it run for less than 30 seconds. If there is a problem it will show up right away and blink a code. Both the SC and the SS board will have led's that light when power is on. If that works then you need to remove the jumper at sc50 and install the buffers. And with fingers crossed , toes crossed you should have a working tv.Leave a comment:

I don't know what else to test. When the board gets in, I'll ask for any final instructions before the delicate operation. LolLeave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
Sorry, I should have directed my question to tw2005. Make sure you get some guidance before just putting the board in, cause you can fry it. I know this from bad luck I've had. I think you originally said you had a 8 blink code, but I think that was cause nothing was plugged into the power supply.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
Did you order a kit from SJ or just the fet's by themselves. I am curious cause SJ usually includes ic's and a bunch of stuff I usually don't replace. I am waiting for a kit right now for my 55gt31. I had a question related to this post. I have a SU board that has one shorted chip. I removed the chip and the short went away. If I put that board in with out the chip, will the tv fire up. I know I would be missing the drive for the panel but don't want to harm anything. I was going to order a chip and try my luck on soldering it in, so I thought if the rest of the buffer works I would proceed, otherwise I would be looking for one of those hard to find 5340 buffers.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
Vscn_f 0.L
VFo 0.L
Lower board:
vf5v 8.92 the first test, 8.98 the second
0.L the rest.
OL generally means out of range so i can only interpret that as greater than 60Mohms since the claimed range of this meter is 60 Mohms.
All I can say is if they're that high then it won't blow the SC , and they may be fine. I've seen this before on earlier models where the resistances are high, nothing like what I get and they've been fine.
I am surprised though you can't get the 29Kohms though.
I can't say much more. I'd love to give you 100% assurance, I can't. It will still be a bit of a gamble but if the SC you get is fine, you could always resell or keep looking for another 55" one to pop up.
I'd have a go.
Comes down how much risk you can handle. The boards of value in these would be primarily SC,SU,SD, A-board, panel.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30
If there's no shorts at all on the 3 input checkpoints then that is a good sign and if there is a fault at least the SC should be fine. If Vfo is shorted then it could blow a SC board.
Worth a gamble I feel. just got my bits from UTsource today so I'm getting into my GT30. If you can get yours up, the picture is pretty good. better than my 2010 V20.
that will give me a U30(S30), ST30, GT30. I like the picture, will see how reliability is. So far I have a U30 that completed over 12months since a rebuild.Leave a comment:

by riparoHi everyone, I have a Panasonic OLED TV model 55EZ950E, as soon as I turn it on I don't have any image the LED goes from green to red LED blinking every 4 sec, I found the service manual suggests checking OLED PANEL, PB BOARD, T-CON connectors but it seems like everything ok, I didn't find any burns under the pb board
I attach a link to download the service manual, thank you for anyone who can help me

by CoinCoin88Hello there,
Google led me again to badcaps when trying to troubleshoot a dying Plasma that is sitting at my uncle's roughly 550 km from where I am. It's an old G20 from 2010 or so, that isn't being actively used so you can consider the panel "not too sollicitated".
Symptoms: TV starts, works for 5-10 minutes, then screen turns black and safety kicks in and spits a 13-blink code with the red LED. Once this code kicks in, the TV will not display any image anymore. Unplug it for a few minutes, plug it again, it'll work then fail a few minutes later.

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

by ItepKHey everyone!
I've gotten this TV for free, neither have it seen a TV repair man, neither have it been opened before.
This post describes my entire troubleshooting process of this TV.
When I turn it on using the ON/OFF switch at the side of the TV, the light rapidly flashes green, then it stays on, but it does not react to any of the remote buttons, side buttons, and doesn't play audio.
I've taken the unit apart, and I've started to check some voltages:

by TofHello everyone, here is the issue I am facing with my Panasonic Oled TX-65FZ800e.
When the TV has not be used for some hours, I power up the TV with a video input and the image is displayed perfectly for 30seconds and then the TV switch off with the red light blinking every 4 seconds for ever.
The service manual explanation: EVDD_SOS (EVDD 24V error) with check point (oled panel, P board, A board, T-CON)
I opened it and found a burned connector on PB-board on the 24V pins.
The 24V wires have change a bit of color due to the overheat and the corresponding... - Loading...
