I am a retired electrician trying to fix my niece's tv. Her house was struck by lightning. They lived with it cycling on off for awhile. I replaced several distorted caps. When the TV is plugged in standby light flashes, blue indicator comes on in front, chime sounds and backlight comes on for about 5 seconds. I have read through many posts and have gleaned a lot of good info. I tried resetting the eeprom which is on the front of the main board and it makes no difference. From my power supply CMN802, I have 4.1 vdc on pin 1 and the same on pin 3 st-by. I notice no drop in voltage when I hit the power on. The other voltages at that plug are where they should be. On CMN803 I have th 24v on pins 1-5, A/D 3.5 with BL on/off & PD with 0 v. I can disconnect connectors from the main board and jump 1 & 3 (CMN802) and 1 & 5 (CMN801) and turn the backlight back on. Where do I go from here?

Posting pictures of the back of your tv showing the boards with clear pictures may help you more with fixing your problem -

Give us a good focused picture of the back of the main board. These "A" model main boards need C102 replaced.Comment

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.
Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.
I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue.... -
