What exactly are you requesting you have provided us with little to no info. You can start with this:

Take the back off and get images of the layout of boards and images of the boards.
Part numbers of the boards.
Tested any voltages at all ? You will need a DMM

RCA L42WD22 when I turn the tv on I have sound for a few minutes and then the sound totally goes out. when you power it down and turn it back on the sound comes on for a few minutes and goes out again. I have not tested anything as I am not very good at that. that's why I am on this forum, to maybe and hopefully to gain a little knowledge.

What you are saying is that the sound goes out, but the tv keeps on running normal?

yes it has a great picture but no sound

also it seems that the HDMI inputs are the only ones working. I get no picture or sound from the rca connections

More than likely your Tv has corrupt firmware not an easy fix look up on google:

l42WD22 epprom/firmware.
