    You'll need a Ultra-Fast Soft-Recovery diode for them...

    Summit like the IXYS DSEP29-06B, Soft Recovery Diode, 600V 30A, 30ns, 2-Pin TO-220AC

But--STRONGLY recommend you get the correct type--Seeing the HUGE DEVASTATION that occurs when these boards blow up.

    Check Q661 (Guarantee Short) Plus Q701, Q702, IC773, IC771 Possibly the Transoptor, PC461 etc....

Any Heatsink Mounted IGBT, You'll need to Check--IF ANY found short, or even Slight Leak--You'll need to replace them plus their Gate Resistors Plus the Dual Transistor pairs and possibly IC501 and IC521 Definitely.

Check out the TNPA5081 Rebuild thread....

With these boards There's NO second chances--They blow Instantly unless you get 'em right First Time--With Even More devastation!

So they were shorted even after removing the bad IGBTs? I've been lucky not to have struck a bad one yet.

On every board--not only 5081 Ive not had any bad D401/2 either....

I wonder whether the o/p checked them after removing the short IGBT's that are wired parallel to 'em....

              Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV

              Hello,
I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
              a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
              c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.
How to confirm Y -Buffer board...

              Panasonic plasma TX-P42ST50 - 6 blinks
              by jm1234
              Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults...

Hitachi 55HDS69 55" Plasma TV - No Picture But Sound

Picked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.

When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.
Copper coils had no sign of corrosion on...

Plasma Samsung PS-50C96HD Main board BN94-01223C switches off supply after few seconds
              by alltvrepairs
              Hi,
I have this almost brand new Plasma was well stored. I would like to repair it for a friend of mine.

I have noticed that it works for few seconds then switches Off the Power_ On signal. Have disconnected boards and left maion board and power supply and still the same. The power supply with PS_ON and VA signals On stays on so it is not a problem in the power supply.
Any one met this problem in the past?...

              LG 60PS11-UA 60-inch 1080p Plasma TV-service lit & video help needed

This is my first posting, so forgive me everyone in advance if I made mistake(s) in my posting.

I know there have been much about this plama tv already and I have read through most what I could find. However; I still have not come across any service lit/schematics for this tv. I even looked for the 50PS11 which would be basically relevant other than display size. Anyone know to find the documentation would greatly be appreciated.

The set that I have has issues with lower third of screen being dimmer than the above portion. From my past experiences with tube, solid state,...
