    Sony Bravia Double image problem goes away after 15 mins

    I'll get straight to it.
    In the morning when i turn it on, it shows double image where one is superimposed over the other and the distance bw the two images is ~5mm. One of the double image shows a slight discoloration. After 15 to 20 mins, everything goes back to normal and occasional the discoloration happens, (not the double image)

    Things I've tried
    1. Ruled out the set top box. It's a tv issue.
    2. Took apart the tv, tried to apply tape to the led ribbon cable. Tv refused to turn on. Red blinking light.

    What could be a possible solution /fault? Parts maybe?

      I would say two things are happening when you say the TV refuses to turn on do you have a blinking error code? And what did you touch between the period of the TV working and taking the back off the side of the LED driver cable in when you put tape on it what do you mean by putting tape on the cable. Maybe a few pictures would help better clarify what's going on. Take pictures of the power supply board and the main board
      Did I leave the soldering iron on?

          This TV was showing a fine image and pulsing with a partial double image (offset vertically) every few seconds. I taped 8 clock pins on one ribbon cable from the Tcon to the panel. It stopped the double image, but some pulsing in intensity was still visible. I then taped another 8 clock pins on the same ribbon cable and the image is now ‘fixed’. Although I understand this results in some loss of resolution, presumably because the clock signal degrades as it passes horizontally across the screen.

          I am wondering - do these symptoms and ‘fix’ mean that it’s a Tcon fault or...

          LCD displays a 2nd image slighty offset vertically. And multiple pairs of black lines along the bottom. Probably common as google "TCL 49S405 double image" pulls up this ifixit post ( link ) with identical ( nearly, but their fault seems to be on the other half of the panel than mine ) problem without solution.

          This one looks to be a more difficult to diagnose because most? of TCON seems integrated ( CSOT BGA on buffer baord) into the left panel edge board ( looking from rear of TV) There are 2 buffer boards for each 1/2 of the screen. Main connects to the left buffer board...

          Hi all,
          Long time lurker first time post.

          I was recently gifted a KDL-65W850C that had a faulty backlight LED, replaced the strip and it now has a functioning backlight.

          The issues now are that skin tones are red and also I'm getting double images
          and "ghosting"? on right hand side. I have attached pics.

          Also the "tab" on top right of panel is hot to the touch, when I do touch it does affect the picture slightly. The other tabs are cool to the touch. Pic also attached...finger in (pic because camera wouldn't focus)...

          Hello team,

          I'm back with another tv and another problem.
          I try to improve my knowledge on fixing TV, and all technics used until now are not fixing correctly the problem.

          First, reboot issue, I use tape Method to find out the right side that cases the issue.
          Then using this it's working for quite 1hour30, then at some point of time the image became double on the bottom for half the screen.
          Then double image reduce in height and move to the top.
          The image is like folded on around 1cm and the bottom has been moved to the top by 1cm.
