Hey thanks for your reply nomoresonys I'll do some research on those two possible fixes.
But I think I have found the issue and not sure this is repairable.
The COF looks like its popped see pic.

Whats the chance of this panel being salvageable?

Hi all,
Long time lurker first time post.

I was recently gifted a KDL-65W850C that had a faulty backlight LED, replaced the strip and it now has a functioning backlight.

The issues now are that skin tones are red and also I'm getting double images
and "ghosting"? on right hand side. I have attached pics.

Also the "tab" on top right of panel is hot to the touch, when I do touch it does affect the picture slightly. The other tabs are cool to the touch. Pic also attached...finger in (pic because camera wouldn't focus)...

Just introducing myself...my name is Dennis. Have been in IT for 30+years staring out in component level repair of many old office automation systems (WANG).
I'm now needing to get around to the 4 laptops I have sitting around that are suffering from various issues and I heard this was a great place to start.
