Re: Panasonic Plasma TH-P50GT30A - 7 blinks
same parts failed Q621,622,623 and Q661. Obviously I've missed something, time to put the other board in while I try and nut this out.

Re: Panasonic Plasma TH-P50GT30A - 7 blinks
my GT has died again, 6 blink. was fine running for a few hours, was turned off and I just went to fire it up again, no pop but a funny low buzz like a shorted panel, bad buffer maybe?Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic Plasma TH-P50GT30A - 7 blinks
finally, chinese parts arrived from UTsource.
Board #1: I did a very quick and dirty replacing just Q621 30F131 and Q661 RJP63G4, lasted not long and popped after 2 runs as reported in post #2..
So this time I've replaced the whole bank Q621,622,623 and Q661. It's running again and I'll keep this board in it for testing.
Board #2, which is the revised replacement board. had the common 3 x 30F131 Q401,402,403 + 3 x RJP30H2 Q421,422,423.
Fired up ok, but will retest this after Board#1 has had a good run.Leave a comment:

Panasonic Plasma TH-P50GT30A - 7 blinks
hallelujah, Back in the land of the cities where I can get some Pannys to fix.
TH-P50GT30A - 7 blinks. Been advertised for a while, price was a bit high, anyway got it down a bit.
person had it from new, already had 1 SC replaced 7 blinks, failed again, same blinks.
Even had the original failed board(bonus)
Original SC was TNPA5335BG (TXNSC11GGKBTH), these were superceeded with TNPA5335(TXNSC11GGKB50). Of course different regions can have different part numbers but the board number and two suffix work out.
Having looked at both the difference with the revised board was that they removed the soldered lands topside and had bare copper for the bolts to mate with. But the same screws were used.
taking it apart , 3 were not tight and the usual marks underneath.
It's looking like 3 x RJP30H2 and 3 x 30F131 shorted on the second board.
on the origninal, I had a quick poke around and looked like just 1 30F131 and the Q661 RJP63G4 gone. Found nothing else obvious .
So as luck would have it, the Q661 on the other was good and I had 1 30F131 still ok on that board.
Swap over, power up 8 blinks nothing popped.
Hello, I've been here before ( https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...ht=th-p50st30a) , failed Q102 on SS , RCJ330N25
Replaced that and up and running.
16500hrs, no wonder it's done 2 boards
I'll add photos when it's available.
Nice picture with the filter on the glass for glare.Tags: None

by jm1234Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults... -
by AlicatHello,
Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.
Model number is TH-50PZ85U
Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.
Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.
I also hear a few clicks.
I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.
Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...10-30-2024, 10:09 AM -
by nick31Hello,
My Oct 2012 panny plasma quit working yesterday.
It was on when it happened. It let out a bit of burned plastic/circuit board smell. I was not able to find any burned parts though.
Now it produces 8 blinks. According to the repair manual, that points to SS/SS2 board(s).
I completed the steps in the guide: unplugged SS33, the TV turned on with a black screen, no blinking codes. Then I checked the continuity between pins 1 and 2 of the connectors SS52, SS54-SS57. The continuity is ok in all of them. Guide suggests to replace SS/SS2 boards so I placed an order... -
by stecosHi everyone!
I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.
Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.

by BiruslapioBought this TV used not working, panel flashed briefly on power up and it was blinking 8 times, a quick look on SS board revealed a common fault on the 3uF 250V capacitors, C201 to C205 (C1620X in the service manual), the solder joints were all cracked, C201 and C205 pins were darkened and some sparking had occurred on them, C201 was split open and clearly overheated in its last hours, replaced that one and resoldered the others, 8 blinks fixed.
Also the previous owner broke the antenna connector by taking the TV out of the wall mount forgetting to unplug it, I desoldered the tuner... - Loading...
