    50PFP5532D/05 Ymain Meltdown

Ahh great way to start the new year, failed 50PFP5532D/05 which is basically a Samsung PS50Q97HD etc. Fault is no picture but has sound, with the Tv on I can see the green Led on the Ymain illuminated meaning that the Ymain is faulty and has gone into protection mode probably killed the buffer too. This is quite an involved repair and is hard to preform, requires good TQFP solder skills. Going to do a video on the repair.

hi my Y main has gone into protection mode - solid green led have you a video of the repair. My Y buffer has also shorted the top two IC's. Looking on ebay its an expensive replacement boards - that may also blow.

        HP ZBook 17 Mobile Workstation (not G2) BIOS Downgrade - (Pre-Spectre & Pre-Meltdown)
        by xaxex
Hi, can someone please help with BIOS downgrade?

I have recently figured that the meltdown and spectre patches are taking toll on CPU. I know about grc tool but that will only fix the Windows/OS patches. The hardware ones, which are included in BIOS, will still be limiting CPU.

Currently, the laptop has BIOS version 01.47 Rev.A. I want to downgrade to 01.40 Rev.A which is from January 2018. I am pretty confident that HP had not released patches then.

All the latest & previous BIOS versions of this laptop are available here:

Philips 50pfp5532d goes into standby after about 1 minute
        by LesWoollam
I have a Philips 50pfp5532d plasma TV which powers-up fine, then after about 1 minute goes into standby (red light). I can switch it on again no problem and get another 1 minute before it again goes into standby.
No bulging caps on the SMPS board.
If I unplug the x sus and y sus boards the fault still remains.
Any help would be most welcome.

ATI Radeon HD4800 - Running Meltdown HOT!!
        by Topcat
I've never seen a GPU run this hot and still be functioning (this post created from it)!! It's not artifacting or any other noticeable malfunctions within Windows, and Windows is at idle....nothing going on. I tried it in 2 machines, same result. It's exhaust vents & bottom side of heatsink bracket are so hot you can't touch; it will burn you!! WTF is wrong with this thing?!?

Scary high temps and pulling 28 AMPS! ...and ZERO GPU load! It's not even ramping up fan speeds.....not that it would help much; it shouldn't be this hot.

        Samsung UN40NU7100FXZA....MELTDOWN!
        by DXseekerMO
Hello everyone. So this time I come less asking for advice and more with a warning. As far as I can tell this is the first post for this model.

I picked up a Samsung UN40NU7100FXZA from a supplier the other day, build date January 2020. I checked it before purchase to find there were only a few LEDs working. Where they were the diffusion of light looked "abnormal" but the picture was obviously still there.

I disassembled the TV. See what I found in the pictures below.

The LEDs upon the right side of the TV had obviously been so hot they melted...
