    LG 42LW579S horizontal stripes

    G'day mates,

I have a LG LCD tv 42LW579S that all of a sudden developed this fault:

-on turn on this appears on screen:

Horizontal stripes, purple and green mostly. Diagonal stripes are camera artifacts, not really visible.

-after twenty seconds or so, stripes dissapear, and screen shows this:

Sorry for flash . A letter "N" can be seen ("No signal" message, probably).

What I tried: checked all elcos with ESR meter, verified all PS voltages with DMM and 'scope, reconnected and cleaned all flat connectors, knocked on the screen and boards (nobody answered), sang "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", but no avail.

So, what do you think, what to do next, is this T-con or mainboard issue, or something else maybe?

    Thanks for reading,

    Regards

Forgot to mention...no buzzing, no overheating of any part, no smell or visible burnt parts...

      Hi Amdry,

Have you checked fuse on t-con? Usually found beside/near input connector. It will be marked F on board.. If it has blown it could point to t-con, though the panel could be at fault

Yep, that fuse was checked too, it's fine. Thank you for your answer!

Hmm, have you checked all the voltage regulators on the Tcon ?

Oh my, I checked local regulators on main board, but not on T-con... So you think these symptoms point to T-con board fault? Guess it would be wise to replace it...

ReeceyBurger123, I just checked voltage regs on tcon, that's fine too...

Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN - vertical and horizontal stripes across the screen
                by kotel studios
                Hi,

Just now my Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN monitor gave up on me. On cold boots I get many vertical stripes going across the screen (see the attached picture). After it runs for 1-2 minutes those go away but there are horizontal stripes going across the whole screen no matter of the input and PCs I use. (couldn't take an picture of it since the image size goes to 20MB and the camera doesn't pick them up)

In a video about a 27" monitor with an similar issue the guy removes one resistor and supposedly the entire monitor goes back to life? For sure this fix is only temporary....

                Hi Everyone,

I've been working on repairing this beautiful CRT monitor off and on for the past several months and I'm really at a loss for what might be causing the problem.

Unlike other common Horizontal Deflection issues which result in a steady vertical line, when I turn the monitor on, there is a pulsing (somewhat segmented) vertical line. I've attached a photo that shows the issue (difficult to capture without video)....

Slight flickering and horizontal stripes on the right side - VX24AH Asus
                by WillHoh
Hi, I have an Asus VX24AH monitor that suddenly went black and didn't display a logo when I switched it on. After extensive research (also thanks to this forum) I was able to get it to show a picture by disconnecting the STV (VSTB1). Unfortunately, the right side now shows horizontal stripes and it looks like every 2nd pixel row is missing.
Can anyone help me with this? Can it still be saved? I would also appreciate links and references to literature or other information.

Before disconnecting, the test point of VSTA1 and VSTB1 only measured 30 ohms. I therefore disconnected...

There are no horizontal stripes (see photo). There is a sound of moving through the menu! Maybe someone has encountered such malfunctions?
