LG 50PV350T sound but no picture. Help please

    Hi,
I removed the back off and did some probing around.
    Va 55V GOOD
    Vs 201V GOOD
    Vy -90V GOOD
    Vsc 150V GOOD
    Vzb 130V GOOD
No faint glow on plasma screen. (Is there meant to be on a plasma?)
tested upper then lower y board, still no image.
Tcon board has flashing Led (not constant, maybe error code)
Zsus board has 2 heat sinks, one is luke warm, the other is very hot. (Water sizzles on it)
There is a wire link labelled 18V but measures 9V. (on the Zsus board)
I replaced the Zsus board but still get the above.
I checked both buffer boards and one chip on the upper board seemed to be shorted.
I removed this buffer board hoping bottom half would come on (dont know why I though upper board could stop lower board from work)
Any ideas where to look next? This 9v measurement concerns me a little.
Part number of the Zsus is EAX63551302 REV B

Ysus heatsinks are stone cold event though high voltage is being generated by it to bottom Y buffer board.

Also, if the same "working version" of this TV was to be powered up WITHOUT the Z sus board, would anything be seen on the screen? It would just be easier for me to concentrate debugging without that board plugged in for the moment...

Oh, and fuses are all good. This model does not have IPMs that I can tell.
This TV is very similar to the LG 50PV450 looking at the pictures of the boards. Difference being that the main A/V digital board (HDMI connectors on it, not sure what the correct name for this board is) has more A/V connectors. All the other boards look identical.

I also tried disconnecting the LVDS cable and shorted the 2 test points to get test pattern and nothing. Screen will not power up.

Managed to temporarily fix the problem. For completeness, I'll list what I did to get it working in the hope someone else will benefit from this or can shed some light on that this particular part of the circuit does (I have no schematics..)

There is an 15V supply line on the Ysus that feeds the Tcon board. This was at 9v. I cut 15V line on the ysus and tcon still powered up (so it obviously gets its power source elsewhere)

15V line on y sus still measured low. I measured impedance of 15V line on tcon (ok)

With the tv turned on, I bridged the 15v back up and it sparked a little but nothing.
I did it a few times and now that that line measures 18V and screen came on and everything worked.

I suspect there is a dodge cap on that line that got temporarily resuscitated, but at least I know where the fault lies. Bad Y-sus. Will wait for TV to die again before I fix the problem properly.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
              by TR103
              Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
              - sound and backlight, but no picture
              - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
              - it keeps rebooting
              - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
              - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
              - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

              - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

[SOLVED] M1 MacBook Pro clicking sound logic board 5V no power on A2338 820-02020
              by slimmy182
Hello, I bought this Mac from a friend, he said that it simply stop working. The MacBook looks very clean but does not power on, stuck on 5v 0.42A, and sometimes display 5V and 0A (then 0.071A and again 0A).

I opened it looking for some problem, it was not touched before for sure and the board is very clena, no spot of corrosion at all from what I can see. Voltage on multimeter of the board off the case it's the same, 5V 0.42A. But then I noticed this "clicking sound" come from the board ( I attached here the audio file).

Looking on google I found this:...

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
              by Ierwin
              Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...
