    Panasonic LCD TV / Model TC-L42E5BG / Problem: Power LED Blinking 3 Times

    Hi Everyone!

    This is my first post in this forum, so I'm sorry if I'm doing something wrong :P.

    I have a Panasonic TC-L42E5BG LED TV at home.

    It's been a month that when I try to turn it on, it enters the stand by mode and the power LED does the following sequence ad infinitum:
    • Blinks (3x);
    • Stop;

    I know that this kind of behavior is used in Panasonic TVs to point the defect of the inner components, helping in the troubleshooting process. However, I just couldn't find the information about what this pattern means and how to fix the related problem...

    As an Electronics Engineer I have some good theoretical basis on the subject, but very limited practical knowledge on this specific field. Hope I can find some help here!

    Thank you very much!

    From my experience, 3 blinks is often, though not always, a fault with the A board. This is the board with the video inputs like HDMI port on it.

      Hi Tom!

      It's funny how you managed to help me:

      Actually I saw your signature and took a look at the website you recomend there (http://www.toms-service-manuals.com/).

      Then I downloaded some Panasonic Technical Guides (2009 to 2011) from there, but found out the TC-L42E5BG lies in the 2012 model line.

      So, I just googled it and found the right document! It corroborates what you said, but gives a little more information on how to be sure in which board is the problem . Hope I can solve the problem with this start point!

      (I'm sending the page of the document that has the right information attached, for future reference.)

      Thank you very much!
