I would say something has laid on the screen (pressure mark) and non repairable

Dell Latitude 5420, Coloured screens from one colour to another continuous.
            by Dan20701
Hello all, I have a Dell Latitude 5420, before I upload the bios I thought I would ask. All I am getting is are coloured screens from one colure to another continuous that's all its doing.
I have searched on google some say this is a graphics problem and not a bios problem. I did try another bios file from the forum it stops at the Dell logo.
With the original chip fitted I am getting error code 3 amber and 3 white flashes.

            Any advice please ?.

            What's inside a Blob?
            by Crystaleyes
Is something I had often wondered.

After picking up a DMM with a fried selector circuit trace, I thought I'd have a look and find out.

            And now you know too

Tell you one thing, it's some seriously tough shit....

            Multimeter LCD display blob
            by redwire
Anyone know what this strange blob on the multimeter LCD display is? Ideas to repair it?

Picked up the Beckman TECH 360 bench multimeter from fleabay in new condition. It's just been sitting in storage.
I thought a polarizing film or heat, but the G segment looks dead on a digit....

Thin stable coloured vertical lines on Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC come and go
            by polaro
            Greetings,

I've bought a used Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC LED TV. It worked fine for some time and then developed, at first, a single very thin (1 pixel) vertical stable blue line, from top to bottom, close to the left edge of the screen. Now it's 3 lines on the left. When I connect HDMI sources the number of the thin lines grow. After disconnecting and cold discharging I am back to 2 lines. The lines disappear at a rate of 15-20 minutes per line. So it does not look like a damaged LED panel. Any advice? Thanks...

Maldischarge-link that fixes it with replacing caps
            by r-p
Starting this thread because Capkid doesn't seem to be reprogramming controlboards anymore (LG 60PZ950 with red maldischarge) and my game-plasma also has maldischarge (Hitachi 42PD3200). So I will grasp at straws to keep them running. I am extremely bad at throwing stuff away.

Is there any merit to this link?

Very short version: Specific caps seem to loose their capacitance and/or increase their ESR. This may cause the maldischarge. Replace them with better/bigger/newer ones and problem solved.

From the limited knowledge I have on the subject, I think...
