This plasma TV was going to be thrown away by a friend because it turned off on. I purchased one of the kits with the components that usually fail but it continued to have the same problem, even with everything disconnected from the power supply. Since this was my first time trying to repair a circuit board I spent hours reading how to trouble shoot the various components and spent hours looking for the problem until I discovered a cold solder on the power supply. Once this was corrected it has powered up fine when all cables are disconnected. When plugging the power supply into the AC receptacle the TV powers up. When you press the power button it turns off, but when using the power button the set will not turn back on out of standby. When pressing the power button the standby light goes off and you can hear the relays click and after a couple of seconds the relays click again and the standby light comes back on. During these few seconds it tries to power up, all voltages that are listed on page 42 of the LG50PJ350 training manual are present. The only voltage that varies is when the set is off the STBY voltage is 5.7 and the manual shows 3.46. STBY is also 5.7 when the set is on. Vs,and Va are also correct during these couple of seconds the set tries to power up using the power button located on the tv. If I unplug the power cord and plug it back up the set will come on every time. I have no remote for this Tv if that matters. Since coming in from work the set has been on for a couple of hours so I am hoping the power issue has been resolved. Before it would only stay on for a few minutes when it decided to work. I almost forgot, but the tv would turn off and on using the touch button before the power supply was repaired when it did decide to work for a few minutes. Any ideas of why it will not turn on using the power button would be greatly appreciated since I have no clue what to look for since the voltages are present when it tries to power up. Sorry for such a rambling post but I was afraid I may leave something out.

Re: Zenith Z50P J240-UB will not turn on using touch power button
I am learning everyday. If I disconnect the ribbon cable from right x-drive the tv powers up every time with sound but no picture. Once I reconnect the ribbon it just clicks and the stand by light comes back on. I have noticed when the ribbon is disconnected the light on the logic board goes out when you turn the set off. When it is connected the light on logic board continues to blink when you turn the tv off. Looking at the training manual it talks about TCP's coming from the x-boards and I will have to read more about this before I feel comfortable going further. I am going to leave the set as is for now since it powers up fine by unplugging the power cord and plugging the power cord back in. It stayed powered up for 12 hours until I decided to try find the on off issue. I may buy one the gizmos where you clap to turn it on and off. Just joking. Does anyone think replacing the right x-board may solve the problem?

Hope someone can give me some suggestions on this because i'm at my wits end with it...
I have an Envy 13-BA1565na here with an Intel Core i7 i7-1165G7 CPU (board is a LA-J475P Rev 1.0) which has an intermittent power button issue. The power button is integrated into the keyboard, and I have ruled out the keyboard, BIOS and battery as being the issue.
Basically, on mains power, the power button works fairly well. The first time you come to it after leving it sitting (either on charge or not on charge), it might take 2 or 3 presses of the button, but then the laptop boots...07-12-2024, 03:03 AM -
Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by sam_sam_samI have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump
One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy... -
