I do not see the spec, but if Terryfictv uses it and it works then it should be OK.

budm, I tried looking up the caps online but couldn't find any information on it - on a legible website haha. I ordered the ones from HBElect that terryfic suggested, will these work? Thanks,
    Zack

So you did not use the low ESR cap to try out if it will make the TV to come on. I have done many experiment with paralleling the caps to see how long it will last compare to the original caps, so far none of them came back yet.

What is a low enough ESR for this application? Which capacitor off of digikey or mouser did you guys use?
    Thanks,
    Zack

The Su'scon you tried could well be bad with high ESR, or just be too high ESR for this application. Heating the area would drop the ESR which might be why it fixes the problem again - you may have replaced one heat-sensitive capacitor with another!

Try a brand new, low ESR, good brand capacitor instead of a used and possibly defective Su'scon.

Cap replacement is most reliable with 47@16v TANTALUM type !
Jumping, paralleling or bridging the bad cap adds capacitance but
still allows the AS7 on the board to cause a problem. So,the best
    repair is to replace both.

Are the old SMD capacitors still on there?

Could be your replacements are not good enough. And I wouldn't use Su'scon, they're horrible....

Replaced both of them and still no dice... replaced with can 47uf caps... still turns on when I put hair dryer in the area...

So can I just take the surface mount one off and put a 47uf 10v or 16v on there?

The electrolyte in C131 is probably crystalline and when it is heated it turns liquid again and the capacitor start to work.

The c131 will be tougher due to not much pads for soldering.

I scraped off some green stuff down to the copper on either side of c102 and soldered it to that haha

Hello everybody, I could use some help on this one... It's got me guessing...
I took pictures of all the boards and the pin out of the connector on the power supply that goes to the main board... I measured all the pins in relation to chassis ground, here are the result.

    (B13v)1. 12.7 volts cycling (Vamp) 2. 12.7 volts cycling
