    Toshiba 40e210u - no picture/sound

Hi all. My daughter's Toshiba 40e210u LCD quit working. She described the anomaly as an orange line going across the screen and the picture going blank, like lights turning off. Now when I power on, the power light comes on, the back-lights turn on, off, on and then dim; all in about 7 seconds. It turns off after approximately 14 minutes. I also see red light coming from the Digital Audio Out connector. Following are the voltages from P802, lower left in power supply photograph; pin 1 at bottom (power supply to main board connector).

    pin - name - off - on
    4 - 24Vcc - 0 - 24
    9 - 12Vcc - 0 - 11.91
    11 - 5Vcc - 5.12 - 5.11
    13 - PWON - 0 - 3.32
    14 - ACD - 0.03 - 0.02
    15 - DIM - 0.01 - 0
    16 - BLON - 0 - 3.3

Sounds like a tcon fault maybe ? Check the tcon fuse.

Thank you mmartell. Would a fuse be designated as fp01? I am not familiar with surface mount terminology.

Might be. Post a picture of the board.

With the DMM set to 20Vdc and the BLACK -ve probe attached to bare metal of chassis measure the voltage on each end of FP01. If it is good you will get a voltage reading of 5 or 12V on each end. If it is 'open' you would get 5 or 12V on one end and 0V on the other.

Thank you Andrew. That was a good call. It is blown!
Any idea what would have caused it to blow?
Where can I get the part?

Do you have any soldering skills? With the TV powered off and unplugged from the 120Vac, using the same DMM set up only this time instead of being set on 20Vdc set it on the Diode check. If there is a short on either side you would get 000 or OL reading on the display. If however both sides read 1 then depending on your soldering skill using a VERY THIN strand if wire and solder it to bridge the fuse FP01. Power up the TV. If the TV works get a replacement fuse. If it pops then replace the T-CON Bd.

Thank you again Andrew! Yes, I would say my soldering skills are really good. Neither side is shorted, so I am going for the bridge and test. Well, the wire did not pop and have 11.92 vdc on both sides, but I still have no video nor sound.

Does anybody out there have any suggestions? BTW: My voltages are now different since I soldered a wire across fp1 (does anyone know where I could obtain a new fp1 I would like to have the fuse in place) as Andrew suggested as follows:

                    pin - name - on
                    4 - 24Vcc - 23.9
                    9 - 12Vcc - 11.97
                    11 - 5Vcc - 5.11
                    13 - PWON - 3.32
                    14 - ACD - 0.01
                    15 - DIM - 2.16
                    16 - BLON - 3.3

                    Is 5.11 volts within tolerance?

OK. So now we could have a bad T-CON Board, where a short caused the fuse to open. The short caused something else to open giving the original symptom. I would replace the T-CON board as my first try.

                        Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                        - sound and backlight, but no picture
                        - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                        - it keeps rebooting
                        - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                        - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                        - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                        - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

                        by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

                        Hi Everyone,

I'm working on a Toshiba 37AV500A Regza TV.

                        The issue:
TV was working picture and sound went out. Green stand by light stayed on, It will respond to the power button being pressed (goes in and out of standby)
The TV will very intermittently work for around 40 mins then stop. This doesn't seem to matter if its hot/cold unplugged for a while etc.

I checked the PSU voltages and everything looked good.
No bulging caps or signs of heat.

                        24v aud = 24.41v
                        12v = 11.98v
                        5v = 5.062

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
                        by Ierwin
                        Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

Samsung UN70NU6900F no picture and no sound
                        by jchang
                        Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

                        Symptom:
                        No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
                        No sound at all.

                        What I tried:
                        1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon...
