PN58C590G4FXZA Won't turn on. Logic Board?

This is my buddy's girlfriend's TV. I don't have any pictures. I'm looking for confirmation that my troubleshooting method is correct.

When plugged in, the red led on the front is solid. When trying to power on, it flashes a few times, there is a click from the PSU, and the led goes solid again. I unplugged each of the sustain boards one at a time with no change. I unplugged the logic board and the symptoms changed. The red led flashes and turns off as if the tv is powered on. The PSU seems to come up too without Vs. the Vs-on pin is part of the logic board circuit.

I also disconnected the LVDS cable from the main with the logic board plugged in and jumpered pins 3 and 4 on the logic board. There was no change in symptoms.

I believe the logic board is bad but it's possible that something in the Vs circuit is faulty on the PSU. Does the Vs-on pin go high at startup or is it pulled to ground?

    Any thoughts?

I think the problem with this approach is that the logic board would be part of the shutdown cct if a fault occurred on the sustains. Also , these later models from what I've read shutdown if the y or x are isolated.

    fastrack attached

I think I'd be having a probe around the x, y and buffers for shorted components.

As you know I'm not a Samsung bloke but if the design is similar to the smaller models(certainly that fastrack reads similar) X-mains were an issue, at least for the 42" I looked at. Firmware update was available too. On that model it also appeared x takes out y and sometimes x,y and bufer needed doing.

I'm sure you'll work it out. Check the IGBTs for shorts

I finally got a chance to get back to this one. With X and Y disconnected, Vs jumps to about 66V before the board shuts down. Va stays at zero. I suspect this is a bad PSU. I've gotta take a couple resistors over next time to try to force the PSU on.

Did you figure out what the problem was with this TV?
I'm working on a buddy's that is the same model and has the same problem.
Vs jumps up to about 55v while Va does nothing and then the power shuts off.

I replaced the QS802 and QS804 mosfets on the SMPS with no change.

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
                by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

LG 60PK550 Logic Control Board EBR63450301
                by Yanleb
Hi all, I just want to share the repair of my 60PK550-UA TV set.

The TV set was powering on, just no image. After verification, nothing wrong on the YSus or ZSus boards. Nothing wrong on the main board either.

But I noticed that the LED was not flashing on the Logic Control Board. This is an EBR63450301. The LED is supposed to flash even with all the flat cables disconnected, with only the power cable attached.

All the voltages measured at the electrolytic capacitors on the board were good. From top left to bottom right:
                C57: 3.30V
                C61:...

Will I have a bricked logic board after reflow of the GPU v-core U8900 chip on my Mid-2012 15" Retina Macbook pro?
                by korben_dallas
Hi everyone! I'm trying to fix my black screen / failed U8900 GPU v-core on my Mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15" Retinaby doing a rework/reflow of the chip (once I determine that's the real issue; but it likely is).

I've been disabling the GPU in NVRAM for a few years... but it's just time for a better solution.

I'm new to soldering but the only feasible way to fix this issue is to do something myself.

                MY QUESTION:
I've been seeing some people (on this forum mostly) run into issues with the logic board needing a serial number or it being deactivated (?)...

                Logic Board 820-00840-A Missing EDP_BKLT_EN
                by mferna14
Hi dear friends., I am working on a Apple MacBook Pro A1708 , Logic Board 820-00840-A that has no backlight. The logic board powers on fine, but no display. After Checking on the backlight driver chip, I found that the EDP_BKL_EN is missing. And this Power Enable comes from the PCH. So does this means this Logic board cannot be repaired & brought back to life again? The resistance from GRD to the test point of EDP_BKL_EN is around is 0.66M ohms. R8442 (0ohms) is ok. Any suggestion/Tip if any would really appreciate.

Repairing a Seagate hard drive with damaged logic board
                by karto95
                Hello everyone,

I'm currently facing an issue with my Seagate hard drive that has a damaged logic board. I've obtained a replacement logic board from a donor hard drive, but unfortunately, I'm unable to recover the BIOS of the original board due to damaged firmware. I'm wondering if it's possible to make the hard drive work with this donor logic board.

I have a CH341A programmer, so I'm hoping that it can be useful in this situation. I've attached the BIOS file .bin of the donor board for reference.

If anyone has any suggestions or experience with this...
