I've the same issue with a set I've just received from a family member hoping to repair (model: TOSHIBA 43u2963db). It's basically a crappy Vestel unit... There's sound, but no picture. I've pulled the panel, tested power running to all components (even past the t-board, well 3v on test pin 4_0...). I've also tried giving it a reflash, although I doubt this is an issue I can't seem to get it to enter the correct mode (hold ok on remote and then plug in with the USB inserted containing the necessary files). The TV will create a folder on the pen drive "DVR" when it powers up, post the red/green flashing sequence.

Backlight powers up fine, sound even works (can hear the menu of a firestick when I plug it in to test) which suggests to me that the CPU/mainboard is operational, but for some reason isn't displaying? I was told that the TV was in semi-direct sunlight (during the current UK heatwave) and was turned on, but powered off around half hour later.

I've repaired laptops and small electronics in the past, but nothing seems to be obviously amiss here; I've visually inspected each board completely and tested the few fuses I could see (I'm not the best electrician in the slightest). I've yet to fully tear the unit down to the the LEDs... but it seems that this may be the cause of the issue?

Apologies for reviving an old/different thread, but I can't seem to create a post yet having made a welcome message over an hour ago. Will happily create a new thread when possible.

// Typical, it now works since I've replied here.... anyway, I've created a specific thread for this issue in the forum.

    Hey all,

Glad I found this forum with this issue so well covered! I have a 49U6863DB with this problem, although it's intermittent. I cannot find any firmware for this model, only software from Vestel. I downloaded this and extracted to a blank FAT-formatted flash drive. Turned on the TV and inserted the drive. Media browser popped up and of course didn't recognise the files. Tried powering on with OK pressed but that didn't seem to do anything.

    Any tips for this model?

    Many thanks in advance

New here, and attempting my first TV fix: my friend's 49L3753DB. Firmware is not listed on Toshiba's site! Any idea where to look? Problem is exactly what others have described: red/green flashing power LED on front panel. The TV is also missing a remote, but the switch on the side should be enough I hope.

That would be great to have
We're talking about the BINs that go on the SPI flash SOIC chip, or the USB update ?

Feels like forever since I've messed with a Vestel...I used to know these things inside and out, but I've lost my touch and need a refresher

tell me the full code motherboard and panel to give you the right software

The right thing to do when it comes to TV software is to get the details about tv, mainboard code and panel (display)

    Toshiba 55U7863DG - green light blinking (17MB130S)
    by naddaw000
Hello, I am trying to bring back to life my Toshiba 55U7863DG, which has never been the most reliable device - keep on annoying me with its slowness and some random start-up/shutdown issues requiring to unplug the AC. But yesterday it finally said goodbye and decided to not turn on again. Green light is blinking, I've seen this behaviour before and thought that these are some temporary whims again, but unfortunately not this time.

I have checked that my TV is build based on the 17MB130S board, which seems to be quite popular and easy to buy as a used one. Still I would like to ask...
