    MegMeet MP116 replacement/upgrade!!!

I like others have been having problems with my MegMeet MP116 psu.

After fixing it once and now it has died again, I noticed another bad cap. However after replacing that cap it still does not work. I checked the fuse with a multimeter and it was still intact but when I check any pin on the other end I have nothing working.

So without a great knowledge on what to check or what it should "read" when checking I looked for just a replacement MP116. Any one I found was either used on ebay or sold out. Then I found a site http://www.shopjimmy.com/element-mp7...upply-unit.htm

Here this site says that the MP738 is a substitute for the MP116A and MP116A1.

And it is only 39 bucks before tax and shipping. Not a bad deal considering the time waisted trying to find the problem and then getting the parts and spending more time swapping out the old with the new. To me it would be nice to just swap out the whole thing. I did some searching on the MP738 and I didn't find any complaints on either this site or on google search about part failure, I'm sure it can happen but it would be nice to get something completely new.

    Just thought I would share.

you may want to try replacing all the small caps with panasonic FR or some other decent part.

Are any of you able to give me the values of D13 / D15 located against the heatsink closest to the connectors on the edge, also Q15 and Q16? Any help is greatly appreciated!

How well did the MP738 psu board work out for you from ShopJimmy.com? Was it a new board or a used one from ShopJimmy.com? I am having exact same problems that you mentioned on this board with my Sceptre 320BV-HD LED tv, same model as your tv also. Thanks for posting all that you have it has been very helpful.
