remeasured across the components and -vy is 190vdc and vsc is 150vdc which match the sticker.

Ok plug the buffer back in and check the voltages again. See if they drop.

Probably should have mentioned this at the start, but when the tv is on does the panel glow?

Re: LG 50PA4500 not turning on

When plugged in and buffers hooked up voltage at -vy and vsc are off the scale on my fluke 26 III.
And the panel does not glow.
FYI: All the readings are when the tv is plugged in and not pressing the power button to turn it on, pressing power button does nothing

Initial thought is bad buffer boards.
Have you tried running the tv with the buffer boards you had originally.
Have you checked them for any shorts?

I tried the original upper buffer and no change the original lower buffer has a surface mount cap burned up at c818

Re: LG 50PA4500 not turning on

The buffer you have bought has probably been taken from a plasma with a cracked screen.
If the screen was cracked when the tv was on it might have blown one or more of the buffer ICs.

                        The power button does nothing?
Have you tried running test patterns?

                            look at the control board.
Does it have 2 holes marked 'ext auto gen'?
If so jump the 2 holes with a bit of wire.

Hello everyone! This is my first thread asking for help and I'm new here so please be nice

I'm trying to repair a Samsung TV but not having much success so I've came across this forum and it seemed kinda nice and friendly. The TV is clicking on/off (relay) and I can't seem to put my finger on the issue. The image looks fine (since I can get a glance at the "Smart TV" logo when it boots). But it's just an endless loop of on/off. If I disconnect the mainboard from the PSU it stops doing the "clicking" sound but that's about it. I've already got a used mainboard...

                                            Hi all!!

Ok just got a Onkyo SKW-593 sub woofer that has no power person told me that it smoked and that his GF let the volume full when she powered off the amp and when he came to turn it on the sub played but then suddenly smoke was coming out, didn't say from where. So opened it up and saw a resistor made of metal (pic) but can't see any writing on metal par so what ever was written on it was burnt. So I'm kinda stuck here with this. I did ask for a repair or schematics in the other group section and waiting for this but I hope someone here might lend me a hand to try and identify...

Hello, I bought this Mac from a friend, he said that it simply stop working. The MacBook looks very clean but does not power on, stuck on 5v 0.42A, and sometimes display 5V and 0A (then 0.071A and again 0A).

I opened it looking for some problem, it was not touched before for sure and the board is very clena, no spot of corrosion at all from what I can see. Voltage on multimeter of the board off the case it's the same, 5V 0.42A. But then I noticed this "clicking sound" come from the board ( I attached here the audio file).

Looking on google I found this:...

                                            Howdy,

My stepdad said all it does is click. And he was right. No backlight, no standby light on the front. Just a steady click when plugged in. It's amateur hour on my end but I'm trying my best to learn via forums and Youtube. Below I'll list the things I've done thus far.

                                            1. I've removed the power supply board and cannot visually see any defects, expanded capacitors or cracked solder joints.
                                            2. Fuses test good.
                                            3. Bridge Rectifier(I believe thats what it's called) reads out 169 volts.
                                            4. 5 volt from PJ91 tests good.

I gotten a Carver CM-1090 amplifier from a friend who has kept it in storage for decades. Opened it up, thick layer of dust cumulated everywhere. Vacuumed it semi-cleaned, and blown off as much as possible the remaining dust. This is a 220V version.
