I have an Alba tv which sometimes comes off stand by and I have a picture but often than not the stand by light flashes and stays on stand by. I have changed the capacitors but no change. I have checked the diodes and all seem to be ok. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. John

Probably badcaps being a vestel chassis, replace the rest of the caps on the psu.

17pw26-3 v1. I have purchased another power board on eBay but it's a version 4. The only noticeable difference between the boards is a 1000uF 35v capacitor on v1 and a 50v on the v4 board. I'm picking that board up next week.

Update to tv problem. I plug in the tv the stand by light comes on then blinks a few times before a picture is shown or nothing happens and the stand by light stays off but no picture.

Edit to previous post. I plug the tv in. Stand by light comes on, blinks a few times, stays off and no picture. Sometimes a picture is displayed but not very often.

Is the Backlight coming on when the picture isnt?

Can you test the voltages in the non working condition and working condition (if you can get it to turn on) this scheme may help

what colour is the standby led flashing? red red/blue etc

I think some browsers don't like the "]" in the URL even though it's urlencoded. What browser did you use?

It's a whie led and it flashes then remains off. The blue screen came on now and again but not at all.

Consider replacing C878 - I've heard it can be troublesome on these models.

Backlight not coming on at all now
