    I really appreciate the help.

      Re: TC-P50GT25 blinks 4 or 10

      Hello, TC-P50GT25
By isolation, I have determined that the SS and SC both need work.
The SC I sent to moduluslink,
here are measured resistance's for the Q's on the SS board
      all are approx 47k E-G
all are is least 400k E-C and G-C
      Q101 and Q102 RJK2017
      Q001, 002, 021, 022 30F125
      Q041 and Q051 45F128

there are also 4, 5-pin small q's that I don't see any shorts on 3Y0E4
      Q055, Q056, Q141, Q161

the vsus on this board sounds a short tone for continuity the white pin #1 SS11
any ideas of where else to check for a short? I have a rework station incoming and would like to try and repair this card, even if I buy an extra SS for $25 ebay.

      next question:
without SC, SU, SD, SS The p card is connected to the A card, the A card is connected to the 3 C cards.
When both ribbons from the A (A31, A32) are connected to the C2 and C3, and the C's are coupled together I get SOS 6 blink
if C1-C2 is uncoupled (c10-c20) or if C2-C3 is uncoupled (c26-c36)
      no SOS.
if just A31(no A32) is connected to C2 no SOS even with all 3 coupled,
if C3 is connected to A32 (no A31) and all 3 cards connected, then SOS 6 blinks, if either C1 or C2 is uncoupled (c10-c20 or c26-c36) then no SOS

The SOS problem is when C3 is connected to A and all 3 C's are connected.

      what can I conclude?
      thank you

      edit:
I have since ran a continuity probe across all 4 of the C couplers. c10,c20,c26,c36 and each one has some shorts as I zip along the ribbon connectors with all of them isolated from each other, and without A31 and A32. I don't know nearly enough to know whether this is indicative of all 3 C cards being faulty, or whether normal?

I don't want to sound rude but, why? You're doing a whole lot of unnecessary fiddling with little knowledge. As far as I'm concerned fault finding is completed and the offending board sent away for repair.

Put everything back to how it should be and wait for the board to return. If a fault remains after this then we can investigate.

Just want to see you have a win and get a working TV with the money invested. hate to see the panel damaged fiddling. Those bottom ribbons, whatever you do do not experiment there or run the TV with any of those unbolted. those ribbns have ics embedded if damaged or burnt, that's it, damaged panel.

Did you get that dead 5081 board?

no, i got outbid, but he is going to list another one. I think with the rework station and preheater, the fix is doable on That SC.

this is the ribbon i disconnected which keep the TV on without SOS (no SC, SS)
but i tested the GT25, the pic is of GT30

Look, I'm sure there's a few steps to prove what's good or not. You found sc2 shorted and that's it as far as the 10/4 blink scenario goes. It's a common failure, they all pretty much go this way or occasionally maybe an A board.

6 blink is SC related, we already know that board is bad so it's not something worth chasing.

If you disconnect sc20,sc2, everything else hooked up = 6 blink = normal result, now disconnect c10, = 8 blink also normal result.

I usually get people to disconnect sc2,sc20, p25, ss11 and 3 white ribbons on the A board and you should get same no error and TV on. if run for more than 30 secs it can then shutdown to 4 blink (normal) not recommended to run more than 30secs. Tis confirms you do not have a hidden 1 blink (a board and also confirms A and P are good. you've already achieved this result not worth trying again for the fun of it

do not reconnect any power leads sc2,ss11 or p35 imediately after a power on or you can spike the boards and panel causing damage in particular p35 as that goes to those c boards and can blow those chips on film = dead panel

I think hot air rework is overkill to repair the board but then I've never had one or used one. probably would give it a shot oif i did, too slack to spend the $$$ on one and I'm cheap

yay, I got my SC back from modulus, plugged it in and Action!
thanks guys, it's nice to get a win!
