looks like my card is TNPA5081AP $85
    http://www.moduslinkptstvboards.com/txnsc1mmuu/
the TNPA5081 no suffix is $68

Are any of these cards interchangeable?

looking at the SS card, i have shorts on D001, 002, 051 on pin A to pin A.
On SS11, its crazy, with extech digital mmeter i get mega ohms then switch probes i get short tone on pin SS11 white to ground, so SS is bad too?

Vfo states 2.2Meg, you say 2.5 meg, i usually get about 1.9Meg on a fluke 73.

This would normally show short on a bad board, I say pass

        VSCN-F (TPSC1) states 221K, you say 220K, I get 220K- pass

5V_F states 5.7Meg, you report ? What is the range limit for your meters? I get as quoted with my meter

        confirm Su 5V_F,

Now repeat process for the SD, looks promising

gnd on these has nothing to do with chassis gnd
on TPSU17 and TPSD26 i am getting erratic readings, from zero to OL. and i get a short chirp for short at first touch on each of these pins.

sounds like your meter can not read it and the cct is charging. if it goes to OL and not a constant beep these are probably ok. you never did come with an answer for the limit of your meters

they do not have boards in stock, yours will be repaired so the cost is $85

AF would work , no suffix is for 54', never understand how that one can be cheaper to fix as it has the most transistors on it

As i went down your list they looked more and more difficult.
IC771 with AE on it 3 pins under and one above, doable
773 is smaller and looks like it has 5 solder pins
                  q701 is small but accessible
                  702 a little harder
                  818 even smaller, 3 pins
IC521 chip 1737FP, i would not know how to remove that one, copper braid? hot air?

                  I salute your skill!

well I am going to look into modus for my TNPA5081, thanks
                  I will be back...
The M81737 chip is not too hard, flood both sides and use 2 irons running them up and down so all pins molten and flick it off. or very carefully cut each leg hard against the casing even on one side then flood the other side with solder and move or cut legs both sides them desolder the remnants.

IC773 is awkward and I've lifted the tracks a couple of times

Thanks . $85 doesn't seem to bad, when I look at hose teeny tiny chips!
I would consider trying if it was just for fun or practice, but not on this card, the TV is much more fun working.

I do not mean to thread jack my own thread but I think I may be able to interpret the varying resistance measurements.
                      I just got a TC-P50GT30 (pics below) 7 blinks
SC2 pin 1 short steady tone P2 connector off
P11 pin 1 vsus short steady tone with all connectors off
P11 pin 4 P15v quick chirp and resistance starts at 0 and moves up 1k every few seconds no connectors.
The SS11 also quick chirp but the resistance starts 0L and then works its way down from 40m and slows when its below 10m
P35 pin 1 vda also short on P board no connectors, same pin on the cable to c25 is 67k and 73k probes reversed (C's ok )

Can I assume P board and SC are bad, SS and C's are OK?
I will test SU and SD later.

Is it safe to assume, if I get a chirp and the measurement starts 0L and decreases from 40m "no short" and if i get a chirp tone and the measured resistance starts at zero and increases by 1k for a few seconds then "short"?

GT30 pics, surprisingly different than GT25:

I am testing my SU tnpa5090 for p50gt25 and SD tnpa5091
I have them removed from the case and I have measured resistance with both an analog and digital multimeter, with the leads flipped each. The digital mm has a 40m ohm limit.
Since they are isolated out of circuit there is no sc50 to jump.
I would like to know if these readings indicate that these boards are functioning, or is there another method.

                        Digital first:
                        SU41 pin 2 TPSU15 6.2m 0L when probes flipped
                        pin 4 TPSU 16 221k and 220k
                        pin 8 TPSU17 0L and 226k

                        SC42 pin 1 6.7m and 0L
                        pin 2 220k and 220k
                        pin 6 0L and 36k

                        analog:
                        SU41 pin 2 TPSU15 300k and 20k audible tone for short
                        pin 4 TPSU 16 200k and 30k
pin 8 TPSU17 9k and 20k audible tone for short

SC42 pin 1 250k and 20k audible tone for short
pin 2 200k and 30k audible tone for short
pin 6 10k and 20k audible tone for short

I would like to send my SC for repair, but I don't want to use these SC SD if faulty
                        thanks

I'm confused, results now different to the first info you provided. use the digital and use diode check with continuity beep and place one probe on the gnd plate and slowly slide the other along the face of the pins for the panel ribbon connector for each and every one on both buffer boards and see if it shows short. constant beep or low ohms

I can't tell if good or bad the info seems wrong and erratic a bit from the meters

worse case you send them to modus to check with the sc.

not sure how much they charge for that

Thanks again tw for the attention.
I am also confused, that's why I thought it would be best to retest those pins.
I used diode mode with sound, plate grounded one probe, and ran slowly along each of the 10 screen ribbon connectors and did not get a short tone.

But I agree that since I am sending the SC, I should send the buffers also.

For my GT30 SC card, I have read that 3 or 4 others have had success just replacing the 6 mosfets:
                              https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...0gt30+7+blinks

I would like to go that route for the GT30 board, is there anyplace in particular for ordering screw kits?

                              thanks,

if you got no shorts at the output pins I'm going to say these are good because I have found when these go Vfo is always shorted and you will find shorted output pins.
that's the best i can do as a guide.

I would like to go that route for the GT30 board, is there anyplace in particular for ordering screw kits?

                                    thanks,
                                    dave
I see screw kits on ebay and shopjimmy usually supplies them with the kits and also separate. the GT30 may need more than just those 6, it varies from what i've read and also the buffers can blow which are almost non existent.

just scored a 50ST30, praying the buffers are ok or else I won't be able to fix it or it will e very expensive

Fingers crossed, you'll see the components are nicely compact for thin case

I checked my q components again on my SC board before i send it out, to be sure it's faulty
                                        results:
                                        Q661 short between EC
oddly Q423 and Q401 also short EC but they have no component, just pads
                                        Q421, 422, 402, 403 and 452 short all legs

And on the SS board TNPA5082AP i don't see any shorts on the Q's

Like I said earlier, highly unlikely SS is bad. The vacant locations on the Sc are for additional transistors in parallel with the other 2 for the 54" model, so yes you would see short on those if the rest of the bank have failed short.

A typical repair of one of these I have found if all these are replaced they're fixed. 16 in total, least I've used is 7 and have gone over 30 after a failed repair. Not everything is bad all the time.

I bet if you resistance check those 30F125 they don't show short but only have 200 ohms across some of the legs

Bought this TV used not working, panel flashed briefly on power up and it was blinking 8 times, a quick look on SS board revealed a common fault on the 3uF 250V capacitors, C201 to C205 (C1620X in the service manual), the solder joints were all cracked, C201 and C205 pins were darkened and some sparking had occurred on them, C201 was split open and clearly overheated in its last hours, replaced that one and resoldered the others, 8 blinks fixed.

Also the previous owner broke the antenna connector by taking the TV out of the wall mount forgetting to unplug it, I desoldered the tuner...

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

Does anyone have an idea of what might be the issue with my 3050 micro? I have tried replacing new cmos battery but still the same

I am not sure if its the powersupply that I'm using is the issue since its the original powersupply. its a laptop powersupply with the same specifications with the 3050 micro so i guess it should be fine.

i also tried replacing the bios but with no avail, everytime i try another bios it gives a different blinking lights

Any recommendation on what I have to do next? Thanks in advance

Hi I'm new to trying to repair TVs, but I saw a broken OLED offered for a reasonable price and thought I'd try my hand at it.

I found the service manual, which was critical to know where to probe.
