    Panasonic GT30 - 7 blinks

    Hi,

I was watching TV the other day and i heard a noise (more like a crack or pop than buzz) and TV went dead with power LED flashing 7 times. I checked the SC board and it is shorted. I have ordered a repair kit (all 6 RJP30 and 30F131 transistors, plus the 7R5 resistors) but i also noticed that the resistor R834 is chipped like a piece flew out of it. I don't know if it was like this from manufacturer since I've never opened the TV until now. I measured the resistor and seems fine (68K, 1W) but I wonder if this was the cause of the board going bad.
Also, is there a way to test/measure whether the SU/SD board is still ok (or at least not obviously defected)?
I'm trying to figure out what made the noise since other than the resistor R834 all components seem physically intact. Would it be possible for the plasma panel to crack and if so is there a way to tell? I don't see any visible damage from viewer side.
    Regards,

    Adrian

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
    by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

Panasonic P58V11B 8 and 12 blinks error "fix"
    by Biruslapio
Bought this TV used not working, panel flashed briefly on power up and it was blinking 8 times, a quick look on SS board revealed a common fault on the 3uF 250V capacitors, C201 to C205 (C1620X in the service manual), the solder joints were all cracked, C201 and C205 pins were darkened and some sparking had occurred on them, C201 was split open and clearly overheated in its last hours, replaced that one and resoldered the others, 8 blinks fixed.

Also the previous owner broke the antenna connector by taking the TV out of the wall mount forgetting to unplug it, I desoldered the tuner...

    Panasonic plasma TX-P42ST50 - 6 blinks
    by jm1234
    Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults...

    Hi everyone!
I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.
For my passion for technology I'm now collecting several...

Dell 2209WA - power supply - Fusible Resistor replacement
    by jinu_j
    Hi

I am trying to repair an ancient Dell 2209WA Monitor which suddenly shut off with a pop sound. On investigation found that one of the fusible resistors had blown. Further investigation identified multiple components as faulty because of which the fusible resistor blew. Please refer the attached circuit diagram showing the components that were found to be damaged.

    1. FR950 - blown fusible resistor - 0.2 Ohm 1W
    2. Q950 - shorted Q950 MOSFET - 650V 10A N Channel Mosfet
    3. R835 - Blown Resistor - 20KOhm SMD resistor
    4. D930 - Shorted Schottkey Diode...
