    42pa30rq clicks....no power, no sound

thank you to everyone on here by the way. reading multiple posts has really helped...but now I"m at my wits end.

So the issue was it would click like 3 times...slow fashing led light on that one board...so I replaced xmain and with ymain disconnected, power stays on for vs and va. I have been through 2 ymains now. it will click twice.. I tried testing the boards...tell me if this is right please..
i placed leads on vs + grn (hope it doesn't matter which gnd because there are multiples) and it is shorted (comparing to when touching leads together...so infinity on analog and 0.001 on digital). But from va to grn it is as it should be (nothing on analog or 1 on digital) so open circuit which I assume is what I want. On some that I compared on the buffer, (there is no vs or va..but a 5v output which I assume is the outgoing from main to buffer) there isn't either of those results but instead a reading of something like 15.4 or something (i'm attaching photos.) I'm thinking I'm just repetitively getting bad boards...so I am returning the last ones and he is giving me a refund. But Is it possible that the panel is bad? I didn't do the jump thing because I'm terrified i'll fry something else.

I want to mention this as well. At the very beginning, when both x and y were bad (i assume)... during the 3 clicks, i noticed static on the screen for a second...snowy effect...so I assumed that meant the panel was not bad. After repeated replacements I don't see that anymore...any suggestions on what that is. Or if you could step by step (and pin by pin because I can't really read the board very well..not that good yet ) tell me how to do that jump thing where you can test the panel? I don't want my friends to have to spend anymore money on this if I can't get it working.

Another thing...where can I sell these bad boards? someone has to be interested in buying them to fix them right? I've tried ebay but no sale yet. maybe I'm overpricing them? i don't know.

    anyway, thanks again.

Im not sure if you got this fixed yet or not, It seems everyone that has had sucess with this model ended up switching out the y buffer, ysus and zsus all at once. I picked up an insignia branded tv (NS-42P650A11) with this same panel friday, mine has one blown buffer chip (look for little tiny holes in the chips) Havent gotten time to check the ysus on mine yet. It looks like your buffer is bad as well with that reading on the multimeter.

As for ebay these boards are pretty cheap, not many people are going to try to repair them if good used ones are availible.

true on the ebay thing...i've noticed it. Well I thought maybe that was the case. I told the seller about it and he said ..well maybe your panel is bad. I told him if my panel was bad, it wouldn't cause the boards to be shorted (i hope i'm right on that statement). He also said "i tested them" and I said well if you did, why are they shorted? He also said they came from a working tv with a broken screen...and I told him that if he looks around the internet, he'll notice ppl stating that broken screens can burn out the boards...So anyway, he is offering me a refund. I guess back to ebay to look for someone that guarantees non DOA and all that . Thanks. I thought maybe the buffer board and the ymain were shorted..

I pulled my shorted buffer ic and reinstalled the buffer, TV still didn't turn on. My zsus igbts were also shorted. I found a new (used) buffer and zsus for 32$ hopefully when they arrive it will fix this set. Ebay is a crapshoot, I try to get plasma parts from shopjimmy or payless as they have good return policies. Lcd parts are a bit more forgiving. I always test at least FETs and buffers for shorts before installing them.

well I got my parts in from payless and this set is up and running, but it has a single dead line of pixels about 2" down from the top. Im not sure yet if it is a panel fault or possibly a blown out connection as that was the buffer chip that failed previously
