Samsung PN58C550G1F flickers off and on.

    Hi all,
I am helping a friend with their Samsung PN58C550G1F Plasma. According to him, the TV shut off during a thunderstorm and hasn't worked since. When plugged in, a red light appears on the front of the TV and the power button responds. The screen does not light up (not even a dim grey light as mentioned in many posts). Instead, there is an occasional clicking sound and the TV will flicker a white color and shut off immediately. It repeats this indefinitely. During this time, the power button no longer responds and there is no image of any kind. You have to unplug the TV to halt the clicking / flickering and afterward there is still an audible hum from the power board. There are two green LEDs on the logic board (LED2000 and LED2001) that alternate blinking.

I have been reading all over the internet for information about how to diagnose the problem, but I have very little experience with electronics and am just going off what I can learn from forum posts.

Having taken the back of the TV off, I have checked all of the capacitors and do not see any bulges. The Vs and Va values tested from the power board match what is printed on the label (Va 55, Vs 209). It took me a very long time to find the test point for the V scan (the label says Vsc -200) on the Ysus board but I did find a capacitor labeled "Yscan" that reads -198.

I have yet to find a test point for Ve on the Xsus (printed as 90v on the label). If anyone can point me in the right direction for its location it would be super appreciated.

For what it's worth, all of the values I've read from the DMM are peak values when the TV clicks, and then they slowly dissipate.

I have attached photos of the layout of the TV as well as individual boards. Can also take close ups of anything if needed. Thanks for any help!

As an addendum... when disconnecting the Xsus board and powering the TV on, the flickering continues but the longer the TV is left on a bit of a red-ish color appears in the flash. When plugging that board back in and unplugging the Ysus board, the flicker stops completely. The clicking continues but there is no image and no flicker / light of any kind.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

      Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
      by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....
