Yeah... either we have to wait for months, or the shipping charges are a killer here. Maybe others disagree, but for me the 1W resistor is ok. If something goes wrong, it still will fail.

This is my first electronic project. I have just started looking for parts after my tv died a couple of week ago. What surprise me is that there is not even one decent electronics part store in my city where I can bring in my parts and ask for help. I am lucky that I come across this site, which helps me both technically and points me to Digikey.ca for parts. The CAN$8.00 is not that bad as compare to other companies, but it is usually more than the cost of my ordered parts. So now I try to order everything I may need and put them all in one order, better to have spares than have to pay for shipping again.

I better fix this tv fast, my wife has been bugging me to buy a new one. Although I am kind of good at fixing other things, I have never dealt with electronics before. It is a steep hill battle for me, but kind of fun too. Hope I can identify the remaining parts and give it a shot.
