    Re: Sony KDL-55W905A blink code

I was never able to get this one sorted. It has been standing since.
I still want to have this set up and running.

My latest findings is that the new mainboard needs some kind of config to be able to work together with the T-CON.
Through service menu I was able to enter set serial code, but I still cannot "match" the mainboard so it will accept and operate.

Those service menus in Sony sets are quite complex and even still I have the service manual I can't understand what I doing wrong.

Where are the panel ID stored? T-CON?

For anyone with this issue download the firmware via Sony website. Unzip it to formatted FAT32 usb thumb drive. Insert it into tv. Turn on tv. Wait 30 mins. Don't touch tv. It will automatically restart.

Most trouble usually stems is that people do not unpack or unzip the firmware download prior to transferring it to a usb.

Best thing to do is go down to electronic's store in by any USB Flash drive that has a light on it see can see it function. This way you will know it's operating.

          Re: Sony KDL-55W905A blink code

          Hi again.
I did not solve this. Tried all I could in terms of firmware update, all USB connectors, try to update through service menu.
If I press 'HOME' button while in service menu I get to the main menu, and I also can read the firmware version. So why should a firmware update be needed ?
I would really like to get this one up and running. Any advice is appreciated!

Start TV - front led starts to blink amber / green and never stop

What I do sometimes in cases like these the only solution is to buy another Main Bd.

              Re: Sony KDL-55W905A blink code

Have you had an issue where the green/orange flash repeatedly?
'it seems to work too good for the mainboard to be bad' is what I mean. I can watch HDMI sources and menus working. (if start by going into service menu first)
When enter service menu I can do most of the things except for changing serialnumber (one time write only) and also cannot change model number. According to SM it should be possible to change model. Now it says KDL-40W905A but should be KDL-55 , its the same MB for those.

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
                by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

                Sony XBR-65X900E 4 Blink Code
                by Storyteller12
                Hi,
I have this set. It turns on and is watchable for a few minutes but then shuts off and flashes 4 red lights.

I don't work on Sony much but assumed it was backlights from what I read.

Opened up the TV and tested all the backlights with led tester and the all work.

I know sometimes that doesn't mean anything since it's not running at full current but I hate to spend $120 on backlights (shopjimmy) is the only one that even has them just to find out I missed something.

So anyway to test these lights similar to the way we test...

Panasonic Plasma repair - TH-P60GT50 - Dead, 3 blink code
                by rmacintosh
I aquired this Panasonic 60" plasma around the time my first child was born. It was meant to be a project tv, hoping to fix it chipping away at the repair in my free time. Well that was 2 years ago and i'm really just getting around to making a sincere effort to see if I can ressurect this beast.

The symptoms of the tv ar as follows:
                • Plug AC in to back of TV
                • After about 2 seconds the relay on the P-sub board will click on and then a fraction of a second later it clicks back off
                • The 3 blink code is given by the power LED
                • If the TV is unplugged and then

Sony KD-65A1 Repair – 4 Red Blinks Error
                by AK_777
                Hi everyone!
I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.

Based on assumptions, the previous service attempted to solve the issue by replacing potentially faulty components. I decided to investigate further, found a service manual, and figured out a way to power up the power supply unit autonomously and put the OLED panel and...
