Also, when one cleans with gasoline a small static spark can set off an ignition.

That's probably true of anything with flammable vapors.

What about using a petroleum fuel with a lower flashpoint such as kerosene or diesel?

Still, there would probably be a residual odor afterwards. I think I'm going to try the conformal coating remover stuff.
