Hi, when turning on the TV, screen flashes (no image). Red light blinks 23 times, which means fan protection error. The small 50mm fan over the power supply was seized. I replaced it with a fan that had similar ratings. still the same thing, 23 blinks. Any ideas?

Posting pictures of the back of your tv showing the boards with clear pictures may help you more with fixing your problem -
Re: Sony KE-P42XS1 23 blinks
Yes. I just found out that if I bridge the sense line and ground, the TV works. Not sure why it doesn't like the new fan, it's 3500rpm while the old was 3300rpm, so that shouldn't be the problem... It is a Fractal Design Silent Series R2 50mm fanComment

Re: Sony KE-P42XS1 23 blinks
I connected the sense line and ground line from the fan together for now.
New problem: sparkles (or what is this problem usully called? last picture)
It is especially noticeable on faces.
I also took some new pictures, apparently my phone takes much better pictures than my camera...
I'm kinda new to plasmas, so I'm not sure if I can fix this problem by adjusting pots?
I tried to lower the VS voltage a bit (2 volts), but that made it worse: it didn't change the problem you see in the last picture, but added red sparkles all over the screen.
The VS measures 89 volts (should be 87.9V according to the label) and VA measures 65 volts (63.2V on the label)Last edited by Jooo; 01-17-2015, 05:35 PM.Comment

I seem to remember reading something from Alastair on this forum about sparklies on these old Fujitsu-Hitachi panels (FHP) being a design defect, with no fix available. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

by AK_777Hi everyone!
I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.
Based on assumptions, the previous service attempted to solve the issue by replacing potentially faulty components. I decided to investigate further, found a service manual, and figured out a way to power up the power supply unit autonomously and put the OLED panel and... -
by jchonHi I'm new to trying to repair TVs, but I saw a broken OLED offered for a reasonable price and thought I'd try my hand at it.
I found the service manual, which was critical to know where to probe.

With it I was able to determine that my DKA board was bad, when P_ON#1/2 gets enabled REG_12 on the DKA board collapses. I'm assuming one of the downstream regulators has a short, but I couldn't work out which rail/component and replaced the DKA board entirely.
Unfortunately the 5-blinks... -
by NicktronicHi all,
I have the subject TV and it will work normally sometimes but suddenly go black and give the 2 red blinks blink code. When this happens, I check the power supply board voltages and all I have is the Standby 3.3V and BL_ERR 2.2V. When it's working normally, all power supply board voltages look normal and stable. I've checked the backlights with a tester and they all test good. I've also read that the 2 red blinks is a faulty power supply board, so could it be throwing up an erroneous BL_ERR?
Any Sony experts out there that can help??... -
by dumbddI was using this TV for 5 years before it stopped working. I like this TV and would love to fix it myself.*
When I press the power button, the white led comes on (sony calls the module smart core) and then it switches over to 5 red blinks. No screen, no backlight, no relay click, nothing. I have disassembled the tv and found the service manual for 75x940e online. The manual suggests a faulty power board, TCON or the panel.**
The standby pin is at 3.3V. Fuses on the mainboard and TCON are fine. Caps on TCON also seem to be fine. When I turn on the tv the white led... -
by NicktronicHey guys, got this Sony that turns on momentarily and then goes black with 4 blinks of the standby light. I can't find a service manual, but best guess was the Local Dimming board based on a similar TV saying LD_ERR or BCM_ERR. I found a replacement, but it didn't work. Before I put more money into replacement boards, Im wondering if anybody has seen this issue and what worked for them, or has the service manual for this specific TV.
Thanks!... - Loading...
