Hi guys. I have two samsung's driving me crazy. this one, the LN-T4069F is about this thread. this is my bedroom TV. within the past year, when the set was turned on, occasionally the sound came on but no video. this happened a few times. then all of a sudden turning the set on one day, and there was video and sound like normal.
the set worked that way for months. then again just recently, a few days it would exhibit the same symptoms again, turn on, sound ok, no video.
after working properly for a few months afterwards, today, turn on, sound ok, now I have blinking video! seems to blink on/off every .5 seconds. sound is ok, no intermittent sound as the video blinks on and off, sound is solid.
I have not pulled the set apart at this time to get board pics, etc. from my description, does anyone have a good guess as to what is causing this problem?
a side note, the other samsung is a LN-T4671F. I posted a thread about it months ago. BUDM and a few other forumites gave me some suggestions it also has the same issue, but is so intermittent, perhaps 1 out of 50 times of turning power on, the set will come up normally and will stay on normally as long as the set is not powered off. most of the time, turn on, sound is great, no video but there is a backlight on, screen is kind a grey, but you can see the backlight from the back of the set with the boards exposed.
Voltages on the LN-T4671f were all good. I was able to check them when the TV didn't work properly and then again when the TV came on normally. voltage readings were the same when the TV worked or didn't work.
do the samsung models, beginning with LN-T have an inherent problem with the intermittent video, but ok sound?
sorry to have rambled. I hope someone can point me in a positive direction.
