Philips 42PF5331 HDMI not working!

Hey Guys ,

Got this tv for free with a fault that it "shows weird colours" . Took the tv home and plugged the power in and i noticed that they are sparkies.

The main problem i now have is that none of my philips remote controls are working on this tv so i can't select HDMI from the source input.
I tried using the side buttons and i can select "antenna , ext 1 / 2 / 3 & video "

Ext4 ( component ) & HDMI 1,2 i can't select even though a signal is present from the HD receiver.
When i use PiP ( Picture in picture ) i do get a small window with hdmi input.

Anyone got a suggestion?

I had a Philips set that would hide the HDMI inputs if there was no input signal, perhaps it could be that? Or sometimes, HDMI inputs are called "EXT" and a number.

No its not that. Tried different inputs like hd receivers + pc but it does not show HDMI or component.

Think its time to open this tv….

So 2 more pictures of the set! Strange thing is that when using PiP i do get a hdmi picture but the quality is not that good.
Do i need a new videoboard? ( picture 3 )How can i test this?

Ext 1 = scart and works
Ext 2 = scart and works
Ext 3 = video out and works
Ext 4 = cant select ?
Hdmi 1/2 cant select ? Signal is there and i used different cables and hd receivers.

Remote from 42FD9944 does not work either.

Also , because the remote is not working. Can i simply change the "eye" on the small print from a different philips set? Or is it just a receiver like on other tv's? Im talking about the small black component where the signal from the remote is going to.
