I am sure you have some diode in one of the spare boards you have.

popped in a pr1005, rated at 600, now getting the same .058 both ways in diode, on ohm I get 63.5 and 62.8 in other direction, still trying to wrap my little brain around soldering the cap in parallel on the a board, Thanks.

with only g board hooked up, getting 6.45 on stby, and no other voltages, i think thats normal with just the one board hooked up, now I think I need to jumper my board from stby to p-on, not seeing a ps-on, do I need to leave the jumper connected or is it just touch and release?, Thanks.

will try my best to figure out how to do it, Thanks budm.

As I indicated, the Diode is connected in parallel with the relay coil (62 Ohms), it is snubber to reduce the kick back voltage from the relay coil back into the circuit and damage the drive transistor. This section of the power supply board is not the problem, you are looking at the wrong place.

But are the conductors still show continuities between each end of the wires?

inlets are tiny, multi meter probes wont fit.

think I would need small needles or such to make connection.

That is what I use, sewing needles, or small resistor/diode legs.

all my g board voltages test good, must be on the a board, I'll try the cap in parallel, you pointed to, does that mean put it on top of the other part, like I would a fuse?, thanks.

You are just putting the cap in parallel with that black cap just to see if it has any affect, it is tricky soldering works due to not much pads on the SMD cap to tack on the added cap legs, just remember that the white bar of that SMD cap is POSITIVE.

Visitor: how much business does samsung need to lose over a piece of free firmware?????
                                Visitor: what a joke.

Steven: I relate to what you have said as a consumer.

Steven: Are you able to perform some troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue?
                                Visitor: yes.
Visitor: if I alredy tried it, I'll just say next.
Steven: Just to confirm; did you check with multiple sources like DVD, cable box etc and the issue persists on Menu screen?
                                Visitor: next.
Visitor: there is no menu period, firmware is borked.
Steven: Thank you for performing the steps. We appreciate your efforts.
Visitor: also putting this useless dialogue in my blog.
                                Visitor: blogs.
Steven: In this case what best I can do is I will escalate the case to our executive customer relation department and you will receive a call with in 2 business days with the information.

Visitor: just send it on a thumb drive.
Visitor: how hard can it be???
Visitor: what do you need, another 2 bucks postage, on top of the 3 grand???
Steven: Sure, I will update the ticket as per your concern.

                                Steven: Thank you.
Steven: Could you give me a few minutes while I gather document the case and provide you with the transaction number?
                                Visitor: yes
                                Steven: Thank you.

Visitor: all this bs for firmware.
                                Visitor: something is wrong here.
Visitor: why does samsung take down the firmware in the first place???
Steven: I can understand how important this is to you. I have mentioned the concern in the ticket, you will receive a call from the Executive customer relations department.
                                Visitor: when net month?
                                Visitor: next month?
Steven: The firmware update will be released when there is an issue with the TV.
Steven: No, you will receive the call within within 2 business days with the information.
                                Visitor: theres been many issues.
Visitor: the other guy already said they don't have anything older than 2011, no matter how much I paid for it, which is not good business.
Visitor: not too many people want to pay as much for their tv as they do for their car.
Visitor: at a thousand dollars a year.
Steven: I relate to what you have said as a consumer. I have documented the issues with the TV, the ECR department will contact you and discuss with you about the issue.
Steven: The appropriate team will work on this issue.
Steven: Please wait for the call back from the ECR department.
Visitor: so your saying when theres an issue with this tv model, samsung will release firmware?
Visitor: and your not just taking it off the site to sell more tvs, which will not work anyway.
Visitor: what are people suppose to do, when a storm messes up their firmware.
                                Visitor: buy another tv??????
                                Visitor: not happening.
Steven: The firmware update will be released when there is software related issues.
Steven: The firmware will update the software of the TV. If there is any storm and there is an issue with the TV, the device requires a service.
Visitor: of course you realize, that if people can't get firmware for samsung tvs, they will just buy other brands, where the site has firmware readily available, wihout hassle.
                                Visitor: nope.
                                Visitor: just requires firmware.
Steven: I truly understand your requirement. As I have already escalated the issue, you will receive a call from the ECR department and they discuss with you about the firmware, our team will work on this issue.
Steven: Just to confirm, are we connected on the chat?
Visitor: I'll hold off on my blogs, but it doesn't look good.
Steven: I can understand how important this is to you. Please wait for the callback from the ECR department
Visitor: you need at least an archive of firmware, it's just good practice, if you want to keep customers.
Steven: I will take this as a feedback.
Steven: Is there anything else I can assist you with?
Visitor: ok, we'll see, I'm done for now, waiting on call.

long story short, if your tv is more than 3 years old, samsung WILL NOT help you, in any WAY SHAPE OR FORM, PERIOD!!!

finally located a 10v 47uf, soldered it on, no difference, do I have to unsolder it, or it just won't hurt to leave it in?, thanks.

No need to unsolder the old one, so the more troubleshooting.

hi splitcrete, you think I should change the power supply caps even tho my voltages are all correct or do you mean on the a board?, Thanks.
