There are some ribbons at the top of panel.
I had this LC-52XL2E lying around for too long... it kept blowing inverter boards, but I only installed one at a time. Managed to get a smashed one for £5 and swapped all the boards over. Seems a fault on the master may damage the slave. However after doing this the set gave a 2-5 blink code indicating PANEL 5V failure.
I was worried by this, as it could indicate a bad panel. The panel had been taken apart to check the bulbs were not shorting to the chassis or similar. It was put back but never tested after this. I did not realise that when this was done, the orange ribbons which had been previously removed were damaged. These link the thirds of the display. See pictures. Only slight damage, but enough to trigger error code.
Luckily, I was able to take the good ones from the smashed set.
Unique for an LCD, this panel has tab drivers on the TOP and BOTTOM of the screen. So two down, and 1/6th of the panel had a much lighter block on it... content was still there and not blurry but looked similar to gamma IC fault. Three replaced out of four, and picture was restored
Finally, I can free up space with this beast.
