Samsung 40" LED UE40C5800 Flashing Standby Light

Hi

I've got a Samsung 40" LED UE40C5800 with a flashing standby light.
When checking the voltage I accidentally shorted PS_ON and STBY and the backlight came on. The standy voltage is a steady 5v. Is this suggesting a faulty main board ? Any help much appreciated.

Try disconncting the cable between main board & power board; does the backlight turn on?

Hmm, unsure then, could be a power board or main board issue. Try bridging PS_ON to GND, and BL_ON (or similar) to Vcc.

No joy there. I've found 7 of the pins are grounds when there should only be 4 pins. All the 5.3v pins are grounded and one of the 12v pins grounded. So I'm presuming the PSU if faulty ?

I'd check diodes for shorts on the PSU.
Is that with or without being connected to the main board?

That readings was with the Psu disconnected from the main board. I'll check the diodes for shorts.
