so i picked up a 46 inch sony bravia lcd TV from a thrift store about a month and a half ago. worked perfectly in store, but at home was experiencing what I now have concluded were tab bonding issues (lower right half of screen with horizontal lines that would go away as you flexed the bezel).
thought i'd open it up to try and do a tab pressure fix, but in the process, tore a ribbon cable at the top of the lcd panel, connecting to the top "left" circuit board. (see picture)
after poking around, though i'd try to use a conductive pen and an exacto knife to reconnect the traces. thought i'd got it all connected, multimeter giving me continuity, only to find my shotty job shorted the traces and ended up burning the ribbon cables.
so, is there any salvation to be had here? as i understand, the ribbon cables i tore can't be replaced since they're bonded to the lcd panel in a fashion a home tinkerer can't replicate. should i just part it out on craigslist? solder wires between traces?
