    Quick question - PS42C96HD

I have just done a full psu refurb on the above Plasma (Success).

The front glass and plastic surround is cosmetically very poor along with the rear, I have a donor Plasma same model that is pretty much mint. My question is before i go stripping the full thing and changing over the front. Is there a way to remove the front rather than stripping the full unit and doing a swap over, never stripped one done that far as yet, but i do see clip like connectors down the side. Just wondering if i need to do the full strip down or is there a much simpler way. Thanks for any help in advance.

    Re: Quick question - PS42C96HD

Morning all, with regards to the above post I stripped and swapped over both fronts on the plasmas, only had to remove main board, holding plate and side AV assy, to be able to lift the entire Screen and all internal boards.
Screwed them all back together and now have have a problem with one of them the other works as it should.
I have removed the main board, gone over all connections etc. The fault seems to be like a strobe light effect flashing constantly, any ideas where to start or am i best just removing everything and reinstalling again, nothing was done any different from one unit to the next. Same parts removed, simple swap and screwed back together.

    Thanks

with the tv unplugged and not in use:
if a plasma screen has a yellowish patch or tinge
is this a sign that the panel is gassed
        or worn?
        its hard to photograph
but in daylight instead of being a uniform black,
it looks yellowish in the corner ,theres no sign of cabinet damage.

        Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV
        by ArMaaN376
        Hello,
I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
        a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
        c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.
How to confirm Y -Buffer board...

        Panasonic plasma TX-P42ST50 - 6 blinks
        by jm1234
        Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults...

Schematic or datasheet for Plasma TV buffer chip
        by Yanleb
        Hi all,

I'm interested in understanding how a buffer board chip is working. I know there's about 90 outputs per chip to the plasma panel, but I'm more interested to know about the input pins. I guess that some of them are address pins, but I want to know more.

So far I've found nothing at all. I haven't found any datasheet about the various buffer chips, and I haven't found any schematic for the buffer board using them (Y Buffer Board in Samsung's terminology).

Any information will make me happy. It can be from any buffer chip or plasma TV manufacturer....
