    Difficulty accessing Service-Menu, Pan TH-42PZ700BA

    Bit of an odd one.

The usual access method gives the 'self-test' and factory-reset mode, but not the service-menu.

    42PZ700U Service-Manual says--

While pressing [VOLUME ( - )] button of the main unit, press [RECALL] button of the remote control three times within 2
    seconds.

But--There's no 'Recall' button on the original correct remote for the set. (UK set)
--Tried the return button, nothing, as well as exit and guide buttons,--Think now, Ive tried 'em all!

Tried the 'I' (info) button, both continuous and three times, both give the self-test/reset (Which is annoying, as the set then goes through all the tuning set-up and all that jazz)

Tried the 'Menu' button, both continuous and three times within 2 seconds--again (and expected) the reset/self-test.

Any ideas?--Ive another PZ70, Never had a prob accessing on that one, but this is a PZ700

PZ700U is US spec, entry mode is different to BA. Not sure if it's different to "B" though.

in the 80BA it says , While pressing [VOLUME ( - )] button of the main unit, press [0] button of the remote control three times within 2 seconds

        Could be similar?

Sharp LC-37B20E difficulty accessing service mode
          by dkneyle
I'm getting a blink code which indicates a lamp problem. Following guidance I see on YouTube etc, the suggestion is to re-set the lamp failure counter before going too far further. I use the technique described in Sharp service manual to enter Service Mode (hold down INPUT and VOL DOWN key simultaneously then power up) and it seems to half get there before shutting down again. The Power LED goes through a different sequence than standard start up, a brief flash from the backlights, audio static burst, then it shuts down again.

Do you reckon things are too far gone and the set is...

Lenovo 14IHU5 - Difficulty copying SN MTM and DMI from corrupt BIOS
          by gulencocuk
          Hi all,

          Device: Lenovo 14IHU5

I could not copy the proper blocks from the old&corrupted bios to move my Windows license and device identifier information. Currently, it's working with the clean bios but with an empty serial number and model information.
Which regions should I copy from the corrupted one? Thanks...

Need assistance accessing UEFI of Surface Go
          by BeneathTheSurface
Previous owner (that I have no way of contacting) thought it'd be cute to cap the battery off at 50% and then lock the UEFI. M$ has been anything but helpful while trying to convince me the only path is to swap+purchase a referb. Much to my joy, I found this forum just as I was losing hope.

I have FPT, but haven't found a satisfactory tutorial. So if there's a good one floating around, please post it. Otherwise I'll get you all a dump ASAP.

Difficulty trying to match ESR of a replacement capacitor
          by Ady2017
          Hi all

I am trying to find a replacement capacitor for a CapXon KM 100uF 400V. I have read that the big ones really go wrong but it is the last one left on the power supply board that has not been changed and the TV is still playing up so it is getting swapped too.

I have read that I need to find a replacement cap with the same or higher ripple and the same or lower ESR, with all the usual being matched. The ripple is easy to match but the ESR seems to be a challenge.

From the KM datasheet I have got, dissipation factor = 15% (therefore 0.15).
          I have...

          bq20z955 Data Flash Image
          by Denkawa
          Hello everyone,
I have an Acer Aspire with an AS07B61 battery. This battery is no longer working, so I disassembled it and discovered that it consists of six 18650 cells. I tried replacing them, but the BMS detects that they are not the original ones and goes into lock mode.

I then thought about resetting the chip values so that it would accept the new cells. The chip is a bq20z955, so I tried accessing it using an EV2400 and bqStudio, but it is not recognized.

Can anyone help me? How can I reset the values? I suspect that it doesn't appear in the list because it...
